  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Lands on IL

The Dodgers placed Lux (wrist) on the 10-day injured list Sunday, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Lux's sore right wrist isn't hampering him in the field, but since he hasn't been able to take full swings since being scratched from the lineup ahead of Thursday's game against the Rockies with the injury, the Dodgers opted to deactivate him in favor of infielder Sheldon Neuse. Manager Dave Roberts said that Zach McKinstry, Chris Taylor and Neuse are all candidates to pick up starts at the keystone while Lux is sidelined.

  • Luis Urias 2B | TOR

Brewers' Luis Urias: Sits after rough day in field

Urias is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

Urias' move to the bench comes one day after he tied a franchise record by committing three errors in Saturday's 7-1 win over the Pirates. Despite the poor showing in the field, Urias still appears to be entrenched as the Brewers' everyday shortstop. He's not offering much from a fantasy perspective with a .154 average, one home run and one stolen base through 14 games, but Urias has been more valuable in real life terms thanks to an elite 23.5 percent walk rate.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Takes seat in series finale

India is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Cleveland.

India will sit for the second Sunday in a row, opening up the keystone for Max Schrock. The rookie began his career with a seven-game hit streak, but his productivity has tailed off over the past week and a half. In his last seven starts, India has gone 3-for-23 with three walks, two runs and an RBI.

  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Remains out Saturday

Lux (wrist) is not in the lineup Saturday against the Padres, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

The 23-year-old was scratched from Thursday's lineup with soreness in his right wrist and is out of action for the third straight game. Manager Dave Roberts said Lux progressed to swinging the bat at about 70 percent Saturday, so there's a chance he's available for Sunday's series finale in San Diego.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Leading off in Saturday exhibition

Hoerner is starting at second base and batting leadoff in a Triple-A exhibition contest Saturday.

Hoerner and his Triple-A Iowa teammates will be taking on Chicago White Sox minor leaguers in the exhibition game. Hoerner did not make the major-league roster out of spring training, but the Cubs are getting very little production at second base from David Bote and Eric Sogard, so Hoerner could be in line for a promotion at some point relatively soon.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Not starting Saturday

Albies (calf) isn't starting Saturday's game against the Cubs.

Albies was removed from Friday's win over the Cubs in the ninth inning after he was hit by a pitch on the right calf. Ehire Adrianza will start at second base and bat sixth Saturday, and it's not yet clear whether Albies could be available off the bench.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Legs out second triple

Frazier went 2-for-5 with a two-run triple in Friday's 6-1 win over the Brewers.

The two hits lifted his batting average to .300 and the triple was his first hit against a southpaw in seven at-bats. Frazier has played second base exclusively after seeing time in the outfield in 2020. His line-drive rate (31.1 percent) is at its highest level since his rookie campaign (33.1 percent) in 2016. The 29-year-old is also playing well defensively as he builds his trade value heading into the summer months.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Begins slow ramp up

Marte (hamstring) did light running, played catch and hit off a tee Friday, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

This was the first return to anything resembling baseball activity for Marte, who has been sidelined by a sore right hamstring since April 7. He's eligible to return Sunday, but it appears his absence will extend into next week.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Exits Friday's game

Albies left Friday's win over the Cubs after he was hit by a pitch on the right calf, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Albies suffered the injury in the ninth inning of Friday's contest and was immediately removed from the game. Manager Brian Snitker said that the team would know more regarding Albies' status later in the night Friday. If Albies is forced to miss additional time, Ehire Adrianza could see increased playing time at second base.

  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Still sidelined Friday

Lux (wrist) isn't starting Friday's game against the Padres, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Lux was scratched from Thursday's lineup against the Rockies due to a sore right wrist. Zach McKinstry will start at second base for Friday's series opener against San Diego, batting seventh.
