Pirates' Adam Frazier: Playing well in limited aciton

Frazier is 10-for-22 with five doubles and three RBI since he was called up July 25.

He resembles the solid hitter he was in 2016 and 2017 more than the one who batted just .239/.323/.355 through June. Manager Clint Hurdle will look for ways to get Frazier's bat in the lineup, but with Corey Dickerson (hamstring) expected to return Saturday, playing time won't come easy.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Doubles versus St. Louis

Frazier went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored Friday in a 7-6 win over the Cardinals.

Frazier broke the tie in the eighth inning by plating a run on a single to center field. He's managed to go 6-for-16 with four extra-base hits and two RBI through six games in July after spending the majority of the month at Triple-A Indianapolis, so he'll likely performed well enough to stick around on the big-league roster as August unfolds.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Out of lineup Friday

McNeil is not in the lineup Friday against the Braves.

McNeil has gotten regular playing time since getting called up July 24. He hasn't gotten a ton of hits, though his .190/.370/.333 line translates to a league-average 100 wRC+. He'll likely continue to get opportunities down the stretch in a lost season for the Mets. Jose Reyes will start at second base in his place.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Ends slump with two-hit performance

Hernandez went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs Thursday in the Dodgers' 21-5 win over the Brewers.

Hernandez was withheld from the lineup for a second straight contest, but entered at shortstop in the sixth inning when Manny Machado moved to the bench with the Dodgers maintaining an eight-run lead. The Los Angeles offense kept pushing down on the throttle over the final three innings, allowing Hernandez to finish with his first multi-hit performance since June 28. Hernandez slashed just .148/.222/.321 in between those outings and now looks destined for a regular bench gig after the trade-deadline additions of Machado and Brian Dozier and the recent returns of Justin Turner and Yasiel Puig from the disabled list.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Reaches base three times

Marte went 2-for-3 with a walk, stolen base and a run scored in the Diamondbacks' 8-1 loss to the Dodgers on Tuesday.

It was only Marte's fourth stolen base of the season and seventh in 178 career games with the Diamondbacks, a disappointing total for a player who showed plenty of promise on the basepaths as a rookie with Seattle in 2015. While Marte hasn't matured into the stolen-base threat that many envisioned, he has shown growth as a power hitter in his fourth season in the majors. His personal-best .430 slugging percentage is supported by a 35.8 hard-hit percentage that is nearly nine points above his career rate.

  • Amed Rosario SS | NYY

Mets' Amed Rosario: Not in Thursday's lineup

Rosario is out of the lineup against Atlanta on Thursday.

Rosario will take a seat following nine straight starts, during which he's hit just .150 with a .390 OPS. Jose Reyes will draw the nod at shortstop while batting eighth in the order.

  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Moves up to Double-A

Lux was promoted to Double-A Tulsa on Wednesday

Lux hit a strong .324/.396/.520 with 11 homers and 11 steals in 88 games for High-A Rancho Cucamonga to earn the promotion. Lux projects as a fringe starter with good speed but no other standout tools, though if he keeps showing power he could certainly raise his profile.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Day off Wednesday

McNeil is out of the lineup against Washington on Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

McNeil will receive a breather after five straight starts in the lineup. In his place, Phillip Evans will man the keystone and bat seventh.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Not in Tuesday's lineup

Marte is out of the lineup against Texas on Tuesday.

Marte will head to the bench after starting the past eight games, during which he's gone 8-for-29 (.276 average) with an .814 OPS. In his place, Daniel Descalso will man second base and bat sixth.

  • Pirates' Chris Bostick: Called up by Pirates

Bostick was called up from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.

Bostick has the ability to play second base and all around the outfield. He'll likely serve in a utility role in his time with the team. The 25-year-old has hit a solid .295/.351/.436 for Indianapolis so far this season and went 8-for-27 at the big-league level last year.
