Pirates' Adam Frazier: Rides pine Sunday

Frazier is not in the lineup Sunday for the first-half finale against the Cubs.

Frazier hasn't gotten a hit in the past six games, so between that and the fact that southpaw Jon Lester is getting the ball for Chicago, he'll get another day off Sunday. Between his sub-par defense and Starling Marte's impending return from a suspension, Frazier's playing time may dwindle during the second half of the season. For Sunday's bout, Josh Harrison will move into left field to replace him while Max Moroff logs a start at the keystone to round out the lineup.

  • Logan Forsythe 2B | LAD

Dodgers' Logan Forsythe: Out of lineup Saturday

Forsythe is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Royals, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Forsythe will receive a standard day off after four straight starts, including a 1-for-3 game with one RBI and two walks during Friday's victory. In his place, Chase Utley is leading off and manning second base against right-hander Ian Kennedy.

  • Luis Urias 2B | ATH

Padres' Luis Urias: Returns from minor back injury

Urias (back) returned to the lineup Friday for Double-A San Antonio. He is hitting .304/.401/.401 with two home runs, six steals (on 10 attempts) and a sterling 41:45 K:BB in 299 at-bats.

Urias is the youngest hitter in the Texas League, so the fact that he has more walks than strikeouts is quite impressive. It is unclear how much power will come in future years, but he clearly has one of the best hit tools in the minors and could be manning the keystone for San Diego at some point in 2018.

  • Diamondbacks' Brandon Drury: Reaches base four times

Drury went 2-for-2 with a double, two walks, an RBI and two runs during Friday's win over the Reds.

The second baseman is turning in a serviceable fantasy campaign and projects to remain a viable asset hitting in the heart of the dangerous Arizona lineup. Drury is now up to a .287/.334/.465 slash line with eight homers, 40 RBI and 30 runs.

  • Logan Forsythe 2B | LAD

Dodgers' Logan Forsythe: Fills up stat sheet Thursday

Forsythe went 2-for-4 with a walk, a home run, two RBI and two runs in Thursday's comeback win over the Diamondbacks.

It has been a season filled with injuries and poor production for Forsythe, but the 30-year-old finally looks to have turned a corner with his new club. Over his last 15 starts, the second baseman is 21-for-58 (.362) with two homers and 18 runs scored. Forsythe's recent hot streak coupled with premier placement in a loaded Dodgers lineup has his stock trending upward. It may be time to jump back on a bandwagon that likely got a bit empty after the infielder's disappointing first half.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Hits first homer of season

Marte went 1-for-2 with a solo home run -- his first of the season -- in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Dodgers.

Marte's 440-foot blast to left field gave the Diamondbacks a two-run lead in the top of the eighth inning, but closer Fernando Rodney was unable to finish off the job as the Dodgers secured a series sweep. The slap-hitting Marte shouldn't be counted on for power production with any sort of regularity, but his speed, contact skills and ability to play multiple infield spots should afford him a few starts per week while he maintains a spot on the 25-man roster.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Will play this weekend at Wrigley

Frazier is expected to return to the starting lineup this weekend in Chicago, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports. "I have every intention of getting him some action in Chicago," manager Clint Hurdle said. "We will get him a game or two in Chicago."

He's batted .194/.259/.276 in 147 plate appearances since May 25. When Starling Marte returns July 18, Frazier will likely lose additional at-bats and primarily serve as a bench player. The 25-year-old has the ability to hit for a high batting average, but his below-average defense could keep him from everyday action.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Out again Thursday

Frazier is not in the lineup Thursday against Philadelphia.

Frazier will be out of the lineup for the second straight game, although he did come in to pinch hit during Wednesday's contest. Jose Osuna is set to take his place in left, while batting second in the order.

  • Luis Urias 2B | ATH

Padres' Luis Urias: Out with back tightness

Urias is out of the lineup for Double-A San Antonio with back tightness, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Urias should be considered day-to-day with no real reason for concern moving forward. Unless this becomes a lingering issue for the 20-year-old, he should be back in the lineup in the coming days. Urias has played exceptionally well with San Antonio this season, hitting .304/.400/.402 with two home runs, 24 RBI and six stolen bases.

  • Andres Gimenez SS | TOR

Mets' Andres Gimenez: Holding his own at Low-A

Gimenez, 18, is hitting .273/.328/.355 with two home runs and six steals on 10 attempts in 183 at-bats for Low-A Columbia.

His numbers may not look that impressive, but considering he is 18 years old and has been an above-average hitter (104 wRC+) in the South Atlantic League, his dynasty-league stock is trending up. Gimenez's hit tool has a chance to be plus, but he won't do much damage in the power or speed departments. However, he is a lock to stick at shortstop, and has a chance to hit first or second in a quality big-league lineup someday.
