  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Caught stealing Wednesday

Marte was caught stealing to end the first inning of Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Giants.

This was Marte's first attempted steal since returning from a hamstring injury June 21. The hamstring continues to be bothersome and has recently limited him to DH duty, but the attempted swipe suggests Marte is feeling better.

  • Marcus Semien 2B | NYM

Rangers' Marcus Semien: Swipes two bags in win

Semien went 0-for-3 with a walk, a run and two stolen bases in a 5-2 win against Oakland on Wednesday.

Though he didn't collect any hits, Semien made a positive impact on the basepaths with a pair of thefts. He has a team-leading and career-high 16 steals on the campaign, but this was the first time he's picked up more than one in a game. Semien is one of only six major-leaguers with at least 10 homers and at least 15 steals so far this season.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Swipes another bag

Altuve went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Wednesday's 7-1 loss to the Angels.

Altuve had posted steals in each of the last two games, giving him eight in nine attempts this year. The second baseman saw his 10-game hitting streak come to an end with the hitless performance Wednesday. He's still slashing .277/.371/.528 with 17 home runs, 33 RBI and 47 runs scored through 71 contests.

  • Luis Rengifo 3B | MIL

Angels' Luis Rengifo: Racks up three hits

Rengifo went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 7-1 win over the Astros.

Rengifo continues to show consistency at the plate -- he's hit safely in 16 of his last 18 games, though this was his first three-hit effort in that span. The infielder plated a pair with a single in the sixth inning and later scored on a Jonathan Villar single. Rengifo's surge at the dish has lifted his season slash line to .253/.294/.389 with five home runs, 15 RBI, 18 runs scored and three stolen bases through 55 contests.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Slugs seventh homer

Marte went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Wednesday against the Giants.

Marte took Sam Long yard in the third inning to record his seventh home run of the season. He returned to the lineup after getting Tuesday to allow an extra day of rest for his lingering hamstring injury. The issue has caused him to serve as Arizona's designated hitter exclusively since June 21. In 18 games since, Marte has managed a .268 average with three home runs, six RBI and 10 runs scored. Overall, Marte owns a .269/.363/.444 line across 322 plate appearances for the season.

  • Nick Gonzales 3B | PIT

Pirates' Nick Gonzales: Out of walking boot

Gonzales (heel) has shed his walking boot, Mike Persak of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Gonzales progressed well since landing in a walking boot in late June and will now be able to ramp up his recovery process. The 23-year-old is slated to head to the Pirates' extended spring training facility in Florida soon to continue rehabbing.

  • Angels' Michael Stefanic: Steps out of lineup

Stefanic is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Stefanic started the past six games and jumped up to the leadoff spot Tuesday, but he'll receive a day off after going 0-for-4 with a walk and a run scored. He's off to a strong start through eight big-league games with an .808 OPS.

  • Michael Chavis 2B | CIN

Pirates' Michael Chavis: Back on bench against righty

Chavis is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

Chavis had started in six of the Pirates' last seven games, but he largely benefited from Pittsburgh facing a lefty-heavy schedule. With right-hander Pablo Lopez on the mound for the Marlins, the righty-hitting Chavis will retreat to the bench. Yoshi Tsutsugo, Daniel Vogelbach and Kevin Newman should serve as Pittsburgh's primary starters at first base, designated hitter and second base, respectively, closing off Chavis' three main paths to a full-time role.

  • Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Still not starting

Donovan (illness) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers.

Though Donovan rejoined the Cardinals earlier this week, he'll sit out his fifth straight contest while he works to regain conditioning following a bout with a non-COVID-19-related illness. The rookie's continued absence will open up spots in the corner outfield for Corey Dickerson and Lars Nootbaar on Wednesday.

  • Andres Gimenez SS | TOR

Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Day off Wednesday

Gimenez isn't starting Wednesday's game against the White Sox.

Gimenez started in the last three games and went 1-for-10 with two runs, a stolen base, a walk and four strikeouts. Owen Miller is taking over at second base and batting seventh Wednesday.
