Mathias had his contract selected by the Brewers on Tuesday.

Mathias was unable to earn a spot on Milwaukee's Opening Day roster, but he'll join the big-league club Tuesday with Hunter Renfroe headed to the injured list. The 27-year-old should serve as a reserve outfielder with Christian Yelich, Lorenzo Cain, Tyrone Taylor and Andrew McCutchen covering the three outfield spots and designated hitter.

Rojas (hand) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Royals.

Rojas will be on the bench for the third game in a row due to a bruised left hand. With Rojas' main replacement in the lineup, Drew Ellis, exiting Monday's 9-5 win with side discomfort and also taking a seat Tuesday, the Diamondbacks will break in Jake Hager at third base.

Gimenez will be on the bench against lefty Framber Valdez and the Astros on Tuesday.

Gimenez has been facing lefties a bit more often recently after exclusively starting against righties early in the year, but he's now been on the bench against the last two southpaws the Guardians have faced, so that may be changing again. Owen Miller will start at second base Tuesday while Amed Rosario starts at shortstop.

Reds manager David Bell said Tuesday that India (hamstring) is approximately 10 days to two weeks away from heading out on a minor-league rehab assignment, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

India's potential return timeline from the right hamstring injury looks as though it's been pushed back again, as Bell said exactly one week ago that the reigning National League Rookie of the Year could begin playing in minor-league games by the end of May. The 25-year-old doesn't appear to have hit a snag in his recovery over the past week, but the non-contending Reds may be reluctant to rush India back from a hamstring issue that has already forced him to the 10-day injured list on two occasions through the first quarter of the season. Brandon Drury is expected to continue serving as the Reds' everyday second baseman for the duration of India's absence, which looks set to extend through at least the first week of June.

Hoerner (ankle) took part in hitting, fielding, running and throwing drills during an on-field workout Tuesday, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Fellow injured middle infielder Nick Madrigal (back) also performed the same activities, as both look to be at similar spots in their respective rehab programs. Hoerner and Madrigal could both be ready to begin minor-league rehab assignments later this week before potentially returning from the 10-day injured list by the end of the month. Though both Hoerner and Madrigal handled everyday roles for the Cubs prior to hitting the shelf, the two may have to fend off Andrelton Simmons and Jonathan Villar for starts in the middle infield once they're back from the IL.

Donovan will start in right field and bat second in Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

He'll occupy right field for the third game in a row and stay in the lineup for the 15th time in the Cardinals' last 17 games while he remains one of the hottest hitters in the lineup. After going 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run in Monday's 7-3 win, Donovan will climb from the No. 6 spot in the order to the two hole, swapping lineup positions with Nolan Gorman from a day earlier.

Polanco will sit Tuesday against the Tigers.

Polanco finds himself on the bench for just the second time this season. He hasn't been able to repeat his numbers from his strong 2021 campaign, but his .232/.333/.364 slash line is still good for a 110 wRC+ given this year's low offensive environment. Luis Arraez will move to second base in Polanco's absence, with Jose Miranda starting at first.

Brujan is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Marlins, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Wander Franco's (quadriceps) return from a two-game absence looks like it'll knock Brujan out of the lineup, as the Rays will roll out an infield of Ji-Man Choi, Taylor Walls, Isaac Paredes and Franco to begin a two-game series with Miami. Playing time will likely only be more difficult to come by for Brujan if Yandy Diaz (shoulder) -- who is on the bench Tuesday for the second game in a row -- is able to avoid a stint on the 10-day injured list.

Kemp went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI singles in a loss to the Mariners on Monday.

Kemp drove in runs in the fourth and sixth innings, his seventh and eighth RBI of the season. Although his season slash line still sits at an underwhelming .218/.296/.268, Kemp has now reached safely in eight straight games.

Julien is on the 7-day injured list at Double-A Wichita with an undisclosed injury.

He was hitting .274 with 23 walks and 21 strikeouts in 23 games, good for a .439 OBP. Julien's patience at the plate is very obvious, but the 23-year-old needs to get to more power in games, as he only had one home run on the season prior to the injury.
