  • Willi Castro RF | CHC

Twins' Willi Castro: Sitting again Tuesday

Castro (wrist) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mariners.

The veteran super-utility man hasn't seen the field since Saturday due to the wrist injury, which is an issue he initially played through before exiting the lineup. Castro had X-rays come back negative Sunday, though he'll still sit for a third consecutive game Tuesday. Kody Clemens is starting at second base while Harrison Bader handles left field for Minnesota.

  • Thairo Estrada 2B | COL

Rockies' Thairo Estrada: Back in action Tuesday

Estrada (hand) will start at second base and bat fifth in Tuesday's game versus the Dodgers.

Estrada missed each of the previous five games with a bruised right hand, but he feels well enough to give it a go in Tuesday's series opener. The veteran infielder is slashing .288/.304/.424 with one home run in his first 16 contests with the Rockies.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Swipes seventh bag

Albies went 1-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Monday's win over the Mets.

The steal was his seventh of the season and his first since June 1, but Albies' fantasy investors are more worried about his power drought. The veteran second baseman hasn't gone yard in 22 games, a stretch in which he's slashing just .183/.272/.244 with three doubles, a triple, five runs and five RBI. His average exit velocity in 2025 of 86.7 mph is his lowest mark since 2020 and ranks in the 11th percentile in MLB, while his hard-hit rate of 26.7 percent sits in the fourth percentile.

  • Diamondbacks' Ildemaro Vargas: Fills in at third base

Vargas went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Monday's 10-0 win over the White Sox.

Vargas entered the game in the bottom of the first inning after Eugenio Suarez was hit on the hand in the top of frame. X-rays of Suarez's hand came back negative, but it would not be a shock if he's held back Tuesday. This was the fourth consecutive appearance for Vargas, who started the previous three games while giving both Suarez and second baseman Ketel Marte a break from the field. Vargas has hit safely in all four contests, going 7-for-17 with three extra-base hits, three RBI and three runs scored.

  • Tim Tawa 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Tim Tawa: Enters for injured teammate

Tawa entered Monday's game at first base in the fourth inning and went 0-for-2. He replaced Josh Naylor (shoulder), who injured his right shoulder following an awkward swing in the second inning.

As the Diamondbacks were facing a right-hander, Pavin Smith was already in the game as the designated hitter, so Arizona manager Torey Lovullo went with Tawa. The manager told Casey Drottar of MLB.com that Naylor plans to return to the field Tuesday.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Notches homer Monday

Cronenworth went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk against the Nationals in a loss Monday.

Cronenworth cut Washington's deficit to three runs with a solo blast in the seventh inning, but the Nationals essentially put the game away with three runs in the following frame. The homer was just the sixth of the campaign for the infielder, so he has a ways to go to match the 17 the accumulated in the regular season last year. Cronenworth is at a modest .760 OPS on the campaign, but one area where he's shown improvement is in drawing free passes -- his 13.9 percent walk rate ranks in the 92nd percentile leaguewide and is on pace for a career-best mark.

  • Nolan Gorman 2B | STL

Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Caps team barrage of two-run homers

Gorman went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Monday in an 8-2 win over the Cubs.

St. Louis exploded for four two-run homers across the fourth and sixth innings, and Gorman's blast was the final of that onslaught. It was just the fifth long ball of the campaign for Gorman, who hit at least 14 homers in each of his first three big-league seasons. Though Gorman doesn't have an everyday role at any position, he's been in the lineup consistently of late, starting five of the Cardinals' past six games at either second base, third base or DH.

  • Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Swats homer in victory

Donovan went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 8-2 win over the Cubs.

The Cardinals slugged four two-run homers off Chicago starter Ben Brown, with Donovan's coming in the fifth frame. It was a rare show of power by the utility man, as he had gone 17 games without hitting a long ball and has just five homers on the campaign. Nonetheless, Donovan has been a key part of the Cardinals' offense this season, slashing .307/.375/.437 with 29 RBI, 42 runs scored and three stolen bases through 71 games.

  • Nick Gonzales 2B | PIT

Pirates' Nick Gonzales: Collects five hits in win

Gonzales went 5-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI in Monday's 5-4 win versus Milwaukee.

The Pittsburgh second baseman completed the first Pirates five-hit game performance since Oneil Cruz accomplished the feat Aug. 2, 2024. In the process, Gonzales roped his second and third two-baggers of the season as he raised his average from .271 to .320 across 19 total games. The 26-year-old has been locked into a starting role at second base since returning from an ankle injury June 3.

  • Orioles' Jackson Holliday: Racks up four RBI

Holliday went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double and four RBI in Monday's win over Texas.

Holliday opened the game's scoring with an RBI double in the third inning and blew it open with his three-run blast in the fifth. It was his ninth home run of the year and first since June 6, snapping a 14-game drought. He bumped his season slash line up to .265/.313/.422 with 23 extra-base knocks and 31 RBI through 294 plate appearances.
