Torres left Wednesday's game with right hip tightness and is undergoing an MRI, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports.

Torres was left out of the starting lineup Tuesday -- though he did come in as a defensive replacement -- and it was clear that he wasn't right during Wednesday's game. He struck out in both of his at-bats and didn't seem comfortable at the plate, so manager Aaron Boone decided to pull the plug and send him in for some tests. Expect an update on the severity of his injury following the MRI.

Rosario is out of the lineup against the Blue Jays on Wednesday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Rosario will head to the bench after going 0-for-4 during Tuesday's loss. In his place, Jose Reyes will start at shortstop and bat ninth.

Torres was forced to exit Wednesday's contest prior to the fifth inning, Coley Harvey of ESPN.com reports.

Torres had been dealing with a hip issue that was likely the culprit in his removal from the matinee. Manager Aaron Boone previously stated that this has been a lingering issue for Torres, though he stressed that it "wasn't a big deal," per Marc Carig of The Athletic. Look for an update on his status in the coming hours.

Torres (hip) will man second base and bat sixth against Atlanta on Wednesday.

Hernandez started in center field and went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in an 8-3 win over Pittsburgh on Tuesday.

Yasiel Puig got a routine day off, causing an outfield shuffle that allowed Hernandez to start in center field against a right-handed starter. The 26-year-old rewarded manager Dave Roberts' decision with his 15th homer of the season. The super-utility man is putting more balls in the air (51.9 flyball percentage), leading to a career-best .256 isolated power mark. A poor batting average (.237) and inconsistent playing time are what hold back Hernandez's mixed-league value, as he is usually situated on the bench against righties when all of the Dodgers' starters are healthy and well-rested.

Motter (concussion) took grounders Tuesday, Brandon Warne of ZoneCoverage.com reports.

The team believes he's progressing as well as possible. He's eligible to return from the disabled list July 6 and seems on track to do so, though recovery times from concussions can be hard to predict.

Torres' absence Tuesday against the Braves is due to a stiff hip flexor, Brendan Kuty of NJ.com reports.

Torres apparently suffered the injury Monday night. The seriousness of the injury is not yet clear, though the Yankees have a day off Thursday, so they could elect to sit Torres on Wednesday as well in order to give him three days to heal.

Barreto was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday.

Barreto has hit just .212 but has three homers in 18 games at the major-league level this season. He'll make way for the return of Matt Chapman (hand) from the disabled list.

Marte (hamstring) will start at second base and bat sixth against the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Marte was able to come in as a defensive replacement during Monday's game and went 1-for-2 after being left out of the starting lineup due to a right hamstring cramp. Across 80 games this year, he's hit .247/.299/.413 with six home runs, 31 RBI and two stolen bases.
