Christopher Morel DH | MIA
Rays' Christopher Morel: Lifts homer in loss
Morel went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Dodgers.
Morel has four multi-hit efforts over his last seven games. His homer Friday was his first in August though, and he's batting a meager .176 (12-for-68) over 18 contests this month. Morel has gotten steady playing time since being acquired from the Cubs, but he's yet to do much with it. For the season, he has a .196/.298/.363 slash line with 21 homers, 55 RBI, 51 runs scored and eight stolen bases over 123 games.

Brice Turang 2B | MIL
Brewers' Brice Turang: Not facing lefty
Turang is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Athletics.
Turang will dodge a matchup with southpaw JP Sears on Friday, giving way to Andruw Monasterio at second base. In August, Turang has gone 13-for-61 (.213) with a homer, two triples, a double and five stolen bases.

Luis Garcia 2B | WAS
Nationals' Luis Garcia: Sitting versus southpaw
Garcia is not in the lineup for Friday's contest in Atlanta, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Garcia has emerged as an everyday player, but the left-handed hitter will begin this one on the bench as Atlanta starts southpaw Chris Sale. Ildemaro Vargas will occupy second base for the Nationals.

Colt Keith 3B | DET
Tigers' Colt Keith: Reaches twice, scores in loss
Keith went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Thursday's 10-2 loss to the Cubs.
Keith was the only Detroit player with multiple hits as the team finished with just five hits overall in a sluggish performance. The rookie continues to have a solid campaign following a slow start to the season, as he's now batting .258 overall after finishing April with just a .154 batting average. Keith has plenty of room for further growth, making the 23-year-old a potential 2025 breakout candidate.

Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC
Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Scores twice, steals base in win
Hoerner went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's 10-2 win over the Tigers. He also stole a base.
Hoerner has been slumping a bit lately, batting just .237 with a .275 OBP over his last 10 games, but he continues to boost his overall fantasy production with his ability to run -- the infielder is up to 23 stolen bases for the year. Hoerner has stolen at least 20 bases in three straight seasons, including a career-high 43 in 2023.

Rodolfo Castro 2B | PHI
Phillies' Rodolfo Castro: Out for season
Castro was diagnosed with a torn ligament in his right thumb Thursday and will miss the remainder of the season, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
Castro has spent the entire season in the minors, although injuries limited him to playing just 20 games with Triple-A Lehigh Valley, during which he slashed .211/.282/.310 with seven RBI across 78 plate appearances. It's unclear if he will be ready to go for the start of spring training in 2025.

Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL
Braves' Ozzie Albies: Now wearing soft cast
Albies is now wearing a soft cast on his fractured left wrist, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
There still isn't a definitive timetable for when Albies can begin swinging a bat, but he should be getting close after swapping out his hard cast for a soft one. The second baseman has continued to run and throw since going on the 10-day injured list in late July due to wrist fracture. Albies is expected back around mid-September.

Andy Ibanez 2B | LAD
Tigers' Andy Ibanez: Hitting second against lefty
Ibanez will start in left field and bat second in Thursday's game against the Cubs.
With a southpaw (Justin Steele) on the hill for the Cubs, the Tigers are giving three of their lefty-hitting regulars (Riley Greene, Parker Meadows and Trey Sweeney) the afternoon off while opening up a prominent spot in the lineup for Ibanez. The 31-year-old utility man should remain a fixture in the lineup versus lefties for the rest of the season, as he's produced a. 958 OPS in those matchups so far in 2024.

Zack Gelof 2B | ATH
Athletics' Zack Gelof: Records 16th steal
Gelof went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Wednesday's loss to the Rays.
Gelof singled in the bottom of the seventh before going on to steal his 16th bag of the campaign and his fourth this month. The second baseman is slashing just .232/.317/.393 in August with two homers, four RBI and seven runs scored. However, he's picked it up a bit as of late, batting .276 (13-for-47) over his last 13 games with four multi-hit performances in that span.
