  • Gavin Lux SS | TB

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Sitting versus southpaw

Lux is not in the lineup for Monday's game in Arizona, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

It's southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez toeing the rubber for the Diamondbacks, so the left-handed hitting Lux will begin this one on the bench. Chris Taylor will start at second base and bat ninth for the Dodgers.

  • Brooks Baldwin SS | CHW

White Sox's Brooks Baldwin: Out again Monday

Baldwin (hand) remains out of the lineup for Monday's contest in Baltimore.

Baldwin hasn't played in nearly a week while battling a right hand injury. The hope is that he'll be ready to go Tuesday, but it's not a given he's back in the lineup. Jacob Amaya and Nicky Lopez will form the White Sox's double-play combination Monday.

  • Nick Maton DH | CHW

Orioles' Nick Maton: Added to roster

The Orioles selected Maton's contract from Triple-A Norfolk on Monday.

Maton will provide some additional infield depth with Ramon Urias (ankle) landing on the 10-day injured list. David Banuelos was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Productive in easy win

Hoerner went 2-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 14-1 win over the Nationals.

Hoerner is now riding an eight-game hitting streak, with multi-hit performances in his last two contests. The shortstop has three extra-base knocks during the stretch, all of them doubles, but he continues to derive much of his fantasy value from his ability on the bases. Hoerner has four stolen bases over the last eight games and a team-high 27 for the season.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Logs three hits in win

India went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 4-3 extra-innings win over Milwaukee.

India was back in the lineup at leadoff after getting a day of rest Saturday. He opened September in style with three hits after batting just .194 during the month of August.

  • Orioles' Jackson Holliday: Swipes another bag

Holliday went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 6-1 win over the Rockies.

Holliday has three steals this season, all of which have come over the last five games. The 20-year-old hadn't used his speed much earlier in the campaign, though that was partly due to rarely getting on base in his first stint in the majors. Holliday now has a .180/.235/.331 slash line with five home runs, 20 RBI, 24 runs scored, two doubles and two triples over his first 40 big-league games. The Orioles' laundry list of injuries will help Holliday stay in the lineup, but he'll likely remain at the bottom of the order unless his bat gets hot.

  • Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR

Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Pops homer Sunday

Gimenez went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 6-1 win over the Pirates.

Gimenez gave the Guardians an early lead with his first-inning solo shot, one of four homers for the team in the win. The second baseman has struggled to hit for power in 2024, but he has two homers over his last three games. He's gone 10-for-39 (.256) over his last 10 contests and now has a .251/.301/.335 slash line with seven homers, 54 RBI, 58 runs scored and 25 stolen bases through 129 games this season.

  • Zack Gelof 2B | ATH

Athletics' Zack Gelof: Belts pair of doubles Sunday

Gelof went 3-for-5 with an RBI double, another two-bagger, a stolen base and a run in an extra-inning loss to the Rangers on Sunday.

Gelof was part of an afternoon that featured plenty of squandered opportunities with men on base by the Athletics, who parlayed 16 hits into only four runs. However, the young infielder did cash in on one of the two times he came to bat with runners in scoring position, driving in Seth Brown with his 10th-inning double to extend the Athletics' lead to 4-2 at the time. The multi-hit effort was Gelof's third in the last eight games, one of the better stretches of hitting for him during a season in which his slash line still stands at an anemic but moderately improving .206/.270/.371.

  • Luis Guillorme 3B | HOU

Diamondbacks' Luis Guillorme: Idle against lefty

Guillorme is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

With southpaw Justin Wrobleski toeing the rubber for the Dodgers, the lefty-hitting Guillorme will open the contest on the bench. Platoon mate Kevin Newman checks in for Guillorme at second base.

  • Brett Wisely 2B | ATL

Giants' Brett Wisely: Getting second straight start

Wisely will start at second base and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Marlins.

Wisely has now picked up starts in consecutive contests to close out the weekend, and he should be in store for a strong-side platoon role at the keystone after the Giants recently moved Thairo Estrada off the 40-man roster. Over 218 plate appearances with the big club this season, Wisely has supplied a .250/.286/.368 slash line to go with three home runs and two stolen bases.
