Vidal Brujan 2B | MIA
Marlins' Vidal Brujan: Placed on injured list
The Marlins placed Brujan on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a right shoulder AC joint sprain.
Brujan has gone 5-for-20 with two RBI and two runs scored over his last five games, but he will now have to sit out until at least Sept. 10 as a result of his shoulder injury. Jose Devers was selected from Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move and is a candidate to see time at shortstop while Brujan is out, though Xavier Edwards (back) would almost certainly reclaim an everyday role if he's able to make it back from the IL before Brujan.

Jose Devers 2B | MIA
Marlins' Jose Devers: Summoned from Triple-A
The Marlins selected Devers' contract from Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday.
Devers has spent most of the season with Jacksonville, where he's slashed .228/.293/.360 with 18 RBI across 209 plate appearances, though he does have MLB experience -- he played 21 games with Miami in 2021. He'll now be called upon to give the Marlins some extra infield depth as Vidal Brujan (shoulder) lands on the injured list. Xavier Edwards (back) is trending toward a return from the injured list in early September, however, so Devers' stay in Miami may be short.

Brice Turang 2B | MIL
Brewers' Brice Turang: Swipes two more bags
Turang went 1-for-4 with a double, two walks, two stolen bases, a run scored and an RBI in a 14-0 win over the Reds in the second game of Friday's doubleheader.
Turang had gone 10 games without a steal prior to Friday, though he's now swiped 39 bags on the season, third most in the majors behind Elly De La Cruz and Shohei Ohtani. Overall, Turang's slashing .255/.321/.359 on the season with seven homers, 61 runs scored and 51 RBI through 516 plate appearances.

Jackson Holliday 2B | BAL
Orioles' Jackson Holliday: Flashes wheels in win
Holliday went 1-for-3 with a walk, a triple, a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 5-3 win over the Rockies.
In his first game at Coors Field, the place where his father Matt played the first five seasons of his career, Holliday made a big impression with his legs as he hit his second triple and stole his second bag in 38 MLB contests. The 20-year-old is still struggling to get comfortable in the majors -- Holliday hasn't had a multi-hit performance in 13 straight games, slashing just .122/.200/.195 over that stretch with a 3:15 BB:K. His ceiling remains sky high, but he's a risky fantasy option for the rest of 2024.

Richard Palacios 2B | TB
Rays' Richie Palacios: Ramping up
Palacios (knee) resumed on-field activities Friday, MLB.com reports.
Palacios has been sidelined since Aug. 2, and this activity represents his first significant progress. He's expected to play in a complex league game Sept. 9 and could be activated shortly thereafter.

Jonathan India 2B | CIN
Reds' Jonathan India: Homers in loss
India went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 5-4 extra-inning loss to the Brewers in the first game of Friday's doubleheader. He went 0-for-4 in the nightcap.
India set up the extra inning with a solo blast in the fifth inning to tie the game at 4-4. The home run was his 13th of the season and fifth during the month of August. The second half hasn't been kind to India (.184/.282/.313), but the Reds need healthy bodies and will continue to trot him out there every day.

Brandon Drury 2B | LAA
Angels' Brandon Drury: Knocks homer in loss
Drury went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Friday's 9-5 loss to the Mariners.
Drury has homered twice over his last four contests after a 62-game power drought. He's still not hitting particularly well, going 3-for-26 (.115) over his last eight games. For the season, the infielder is at a .159/.243/.218 slash line with three homers, 13 RBI, 25 runs scored and six doubles over 284 plate appearances. Most of his lost playing time has been due to injuries, but the Angels could reduce his workload over the final month if they want to get a look at an infield prospect such as Christian Moore or evaluate other members of their current major-league roster.

Andres Gimenez 2B | CLE
Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Homer and steal in win
Gimenez went 3-for-5 with a solo homer, a steal, and an additional run scored in Friday's win versus Pittsburgh.
The Cleveland second baseman slugged a 375-foot solo shot off Carmen Mlodzinski in the fifth inning for his sixth long ball of the year. Gimenez later swiped second base in the seventh to collect his ninth steal in the month of August and 25th of the season. The 25-year-old is now slashing .254/.305/.333 with 57 runs scored and 53 RBI across 528 plate appearances.
