Loftin went 2-for-3 with a walk, three RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 11-7 win over the Mets.

Loftin has seen most of his playing time at second base this season, sharing the keystone with Adam Frazier. After logging just two hits and one RBI over his first eight games, Loftin has found his swing a bit with three hits and five RBI across his last two contests. He's batting .250 with six RBI, five runs scored and no extra-base hits or stolen bases through 26 plate appearances. Loftin may drop into a utility role or lose his 26-man roster spot altogether once Michael Massey (back) is activated from the injured list.

Biggio is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Biggio will take a seat for the series finale after he had manned the keystone in each of the Blue Jays' last six games while going 8-for-22 with a double, a stolen base, an RBI and a run. Isiah Kiner-Falefa will spell Biggio at second base.

Torres went 1-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base in Saturday's win over Cleveland in Game 2 of the doubleheader. He also drew a walk.

Torres came around to score New York's third run of the game on an Anthony Volpe single after drawing a walk and then stealing second to open the fourth inning. The second baseman would then come around to score a second time in the fifth, marking just the second time this season in which he's scored two runs in a game. Torres has now hit safely in back-to-back contests, though he's still batting just .222 in April with two RBI, two stolen bases and four runs scored.

Valdez (thumb) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

After exiting Saturday's 7-2 win early with a bruised left thumb, Valdez will hit the bench for the series finale. It's unclear whether the injury is actually keeping him out of the lineup, as the lefty-hitting Valdez likely would have been on the bench anyway with a southpaw (Tyler Anderson) on the mound for the Halos. In any case, Pablo Reyes will fill in for Valdez at the keystone.

Reyes replaced an injured Enmanuel Valdez (thumb) at second base and went 1-for-1 in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Angels.

Reyes is the likely fill-in at second base if Valdez's injury requires downtime. A post-game evaluation indicated Valdez's injury is just a bruised thumb, but he could need some time to heal.

Estrada went 3-for-4 with two home runs, a walk, three RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's win over the Rays.

Estrada had himself a day on Saturday, taking Ryan Pepiot deep for a solo shot in the top of the fourth and later adding a second long ball in the seventh as the Giants dominated the Rays. The shortstop got off to a slow start to begin this month but has now registered multiple hits in back-to-back contests and has hit safely in six of his last eight. Estrada has three home runs on the campaign already, putting him well on pace to surpass the 14 he hit in each of the last two seasons.

Altuve went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored and two RBI in Saturday's 9-2 win over the Rangers.

He also got hit by a pitch. Altuve has been on fire to kick off the season, reaching base safely in all 16 of the Astros' games while slashing .365/.452/.635 with 11 of his 23 hits (eight doubles and three homers) going for extra bases. The 33-year-old sparkplug has added five RBI and 12 runs, and the only disappointing thing about his campaign so far is that he's still looking for his first stolen base.

Rodgers went 1-for-4 with two RBI on Saturday against the Blue Jays.

Rodgers' performance was far from perfect, as he also struck out three times. However, with his timely two-RBI knock in the sixth inning, he extended his hitting streak to three games while also tallying at least one hit in four of his last five contests. Though there's been some positive of late for Rodgers, he still has a poor .222/.250/.333 line across 56 plate appearances to begin the campaign.

Valdez left Saturday's game against the Angels due to a left thumb contusion, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Miguel Sano fell on Valdez's left hand while attempting to tag him out during the sixth inning, but Valdez appears to have escaped the incident with minimal damage. It's still possible the Red Sox hold him out of the lineup for a few days in order to allow his thumb to properly heal, though an IL stint seems unlikely at this point.

Bogaerts isn't in the Padres' lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.

Bogaerts has been rather underwhelming to start the season, slashing .219/.275/.297 through 69 plate appearances. He'll get a chance to regroup Saturday while Tyler Wade starts at second base, allowing Eguy Rosario to cover third.
