  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Orioles' Adam Frazier: Sitting with sore hand

Frazier has been out of the lineup due to a sore right hand but should be available off the bench Wednesday versus the Blue Jays, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

The hand soreness helps to explain why Frazier hasn't made a start since last Friday, though the issue seems to be mostly in the rearview mirror at this point. Jordan Westburg is covering second base Wednesday against Toronto in place of Frazier.

  • Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Another start at second base

Westburg will start at second base and bat eighth Wednesday versus the Blue Jays.

Westburg will get his fourth straight start at second base and his fifth straight start overall. The 24-year-old is 18-for-64 (.281) with one home run, five doubles, nine RBI and seven runs scored in 17 games since the beginning of August.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Orioles' Adam Frazier: On bench again Wednesday

Frazier is out of the lineup again Wednesday versus the Blue Jays.

Frazier hasn't drawn a start since last Friday, partly because the Orioles were up against a string of left-handers, and he will remain seated Wednesday with right-hander Kevin Gausman toeing the slab for Toronto. Jordan Westburg is getting a fourth consecutive start at second base.

  • Mauricio Dubon 2B | ATL

Astros' Mauricio Dubon: Not in lineup Wednesday

Dubon is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Red Sox.

Dubon has been in a good groove offensively over the last few weeks and is generally seeing an uptick in playing time, but he'll take a seat Wednesday as Chas McCormick, Jake Meyers and Kyle Tucker start across the outfield for the Astros.

  • David Hensley 1B | DET

Astros' David Hensley: Sent back to Triple-A

Houston optioned Hensley to Triple-A Sugar Land on Wednesday.

Hensley played in only one game during his latest stay with the Astros and has batted just .119/.213/.167 with 35 strikeouts across 94 total major-league plate appearances this season.

  • Jonathan Arauz 3B | LAD

Mets' Jonathan Arauz: Hits bench Wednesday

Arauz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

He'll give way to Danny Mendick at third base Wednesday, but Arauz looks like he'll operate as the Mets' primary option at the position versus right-handed pitching while both Mark Vientos (wrist) and Luis Guillorme (calf) are on the injured list. Arauz started each of the past three games, going 1-for-8 with a walk and an RBI.

  • Nicky Lopez 3B | COL

Braves' Nicky Lopez: Heads to bench Wednesday

Lopez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.

Lopez will join fellow left-handed hitter Eddie Rosario on the bench for the series finale while the Mets bring southpaw Jose Quintana to the hill. Vaughn Grissom will cover second base in place of Lopez, who has produced a pair of base hits in both of his last two starts.

  • Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR

Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Sitting versus lefty

Gimenez is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Dodgers.

Southpaw Clayton Kershaw is toeing the slab for the Dodgers, so it's not a bad time for a day off for the left-handed-hitting Gimenez. Tyler Freeman will pick up a start at second base in place of Gimenez.

  • Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR

Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Posts steal in win

Gimenez went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs scored in Tuesday's 8-3 win over the Dodgers.

Over his last nine games, Gimenez has five multi-hit efforts and four 0-fers, resulting in a .364 batting average over that span. He's also collected a pair of steals but just three RBI in that sample. The second baseman is slashing .245/.315/.389 with 21 thefts, 11 home runs, 45 RBI and 56 runs scored over 120 contests this season. His playing time remains secure despite his overall struggles with getting on base consistently.

  • Zach Remillard 2B | CHW

White Sox's Zach Remillard: Sent back to minors

Remillard was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.

Remillard is clearing out to make room for Tim Anderson's return from suspension. The 29-year-old hadn't been playing much lately, starting just one of the previous six contests.
