  • Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR

Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Notches steal Thursday

Gimenez went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a stolen base in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Blue Jays.

Gimenez is hitting .250 with a home run and two steals over nine games in August. The second baseman is up to 19 thefts this season, one shy of matching his career high from last year, but he's also slashing a middling .235/.310/.381 with 10 homers, 42 RBI, 50 runs scored, 20 doubles and four triples over 111 contests. On the bright side, he's regularly hit second since Amed Rosario was dealt to the Dodgers.

  • Liover Peguero SS | PIT

Pirates' Liover Peguero: Two hits, stolen base in win

Peguero went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one steal in Thursday's victory over Atlanta.

Peguero drove in the game-tying run in the bottom of the sixth with a single before stealing second base. The shortstop then tacked on an extra insurance run to put the Pirates up 7-4 in the seventh, giving him his second two-hit performance in his last three games. He's also hit safely in three straight, driving in three runs over that stretch.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Collects four hits in loss

Altuve went 4-for-5 with two doubles, a solo home run and two runs scored in Thursday's loss to the Orioles.

Altuve recorded hits in two of his first three at-bats but was left stranded on each occasion. He then added a solo homer in the top of the seventh and a double in the ninth, helping to bring the Astros back within one run of Baltimore on each occasion. With the four-hit performance the second baseman is now batting .400 (14-for-35) in August with two homers, five RBI, 10 runs scored and four stolen bases. He's also tallied at least three hits in back-to-back games.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Remains out Thursday

Rodgers (hamstring) isn't in the Rockies' lineup Thursday against the Dodgers, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Rodgers has been dealing with discomfort in his right hamstring lately, and it will cause him to miss his third consecutive start Thursday. Alan Trejo will fill in at the keystone and bat sixth.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Sitting against lefty

Lowe is not in the lineup Thursday against the Cardinals.

Lowe has posted an .863 OPS with six homers and 16 RBI in 27 games since returning July 4 from a month-long absence to heal a herniated disc, but he'll hit the bench Thursday with left-hander Matthew Liberatore set to toe the slab for St. Louis. Isaac Paredes is playing second base and batting fifth as Curtis Mead covers third base and bats seventh.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Orioles' Adam Frazier: Grabs steal in return

Frazier (thumb) went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Wednesday's 8-2 loss to the Astros.

Frazier was on the bench Tuesday with a jammed thumb, but it was clearly a minor issue. The second baseman has hit safely in eight of his last 12 games, batting .333 (10-for-30) with five RBI over that span. For the season, he's slashing just .243/.305/.422 with 13 home runs, eight steals, 50 RBI, 46 runs scored and 15 doubles through 102 contests as the Orioles' primary option at the keystone. He continues to play mostly against right-handed pitchers.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Drives offense in Wednesday's win

Altuve went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, three RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 8-2 win over the Orioles.

The veteran second baseman extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a vintage performance that included his 11th steal of the season. Over that stretch, Altuve is slashing .378/.451/.578 with two homers, six pilfers, six RBI and 13 runs as he tries to make up for lost time -- he's missed 71 of the Astros' 115 games so far this season due primarily to thumb and oblique injuries.

  • Ha-seong Kim 2B | ATL

Padres' Ha-Seong Kim: Racks up three steals Wednesday

Kim went 1-for-3 with a walk, three stolen bases and a run scored in Wednesday's 6-1 loss to the Mariners.

Kim extended his hitting streak to 15 games. He's gone 22-for-53 (.415) with nine steals in that span. The surge at the plate has lifted the infielder's slash line to .288/.384/.451 with 27 steals, 15 home runs, 41 RBI and 63 runs scored through 433 plate appearances this season.

  • Jose Caballero 2B | NYY

Mariners' Jose Caballero: Reaches 20-steal mark

Caballero picked up his 20th stolen base of the season as a pinch runner in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Padres.

Caballero was out of the lineup for the third game in a row, but he made a small impact off the bench. The second baseman has five steals since the All-Star break and 20 for the season. He's slashing .222/.349/.318 through 215 plate appearances, though it appears a combination of Dylan Moore and Josh Rojas will keep Caballero out of the lineup versus virtually all right-handed pitchers going forward.

  • Amed Rosario SS | NYY

Dodgers' Amed Rosario: Not in lineup Wednesday

Rosario is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Diamondbacks.

Miguel Rojas will start at shortstop and bat ninth as Mookie Betts covers second base and bats leadoff. Rosario has tallied two homers, two doubles and nine RBI through his first 10 games with the Dodgers, but he's been on the bench two of the last three days.
