Castro is out of the lineup Friday against Atlanta.

Coco Montes will draw another start at second base with left-hander Jared Shuster on the mound for Atlanta. Castro also sat against a righty Thursday and may be at risk of losing more playing time. He's slashed just .263/.280/.314 through 144 plate appearances this year for Colorado.

Montes is starting at second base and batting eighth Friday versus Atlanta.

It's the second straight start for Montes, who has delivered three hits -- including a two-run homer -- through his first four major-league games. He started against a righty Thursday and is in there against a lefty (Jared Shuster) on Friday. Harold Castro will again ride the pine.

Rosario went 3-for-5 with a run scored in Thursday's 8-6 win over the Padres.

Rosario seems to finally have his bat going -- he's hitting .343 (12-for-35) with three doubles, four RBI and six runs scored over his last nine games. However, he's still stuck on one home run for the season, which came back in April. The shortstop's .331 slugging percentage is 40 points worse than his previous low mark. He's added eight stolen bases, 17 RBI and 30 runs scored through 61 contests while batting second in a near-everyday role.

Kemp went 1-for-2 with two walks and a run in a loss to the Rays on Thursday.

Kemp got his first start since June 11 and drew multiple free passes for the fourth time this season. The struggling veteran had been mired in an 0-for-23 slump that encompassed his previous 12 games, so the eventful night at the plate was a welcome sight. Despite his ugly .150 batting average and .459 OPS, Kemp's 12.4 percent strikeout rate is considerably above average and his 11.2 percent walk rate is the third highest of his career.

Albies went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI in Thursday's win over the Rockies.

Albies is now 6-for-10 with three extra-base hits over his last three games while batting .375 (15-for-40) with four homers and a 1.172 OPS over his last 11 contests. The 26-year-old second baseman is having another strong season after an injury-plagued 2022 campaign, slashing .264/.318/.494 with 15 homers, 33 runs scored, 47 RBI and three stolen bases.

Stott went 2-for-5 with a solo homer and a second run scored in Thursday's 5-4 win over Arizona.

Stott got the Phillies on the board with a leadoff homer to right field to open the second inning. He came right back with a single in the third before coming around to score on an Alex Bohm double, putting Philadelphia up 3-0. The second baseman has been red-hot at the dish this month, hitting .354 (17-for-48) with two homers, six RBI and nine runs scored. He's also homered in two of his last three games and has multiple hits in four of his last six.

Semien went 0-for-3 before being ejected from Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Angels.

He appeared to check his swing on a 3-2 pitch that the first base umpire ruled a swinging strike three. Semien was not pleased and was tossed in between innings, as was manager Bruce Bochy and pitching coach Mike Maddux. As a result, Ezequiel Duran finished out the game at second base.

Marte went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in Thursday's 5-4 loss to Philadelphia.

Marte returned to the starting lineup after being given two days off due to back tightness, although he did serve as a pinch hitter Wednesday. His third-inning homer briefly gave Arizona a lead, but starter Ryne Nelson couldn't hold it. The home run was the 10th in 64 games for Marte, who hit 12 in 137 games last season.

Wong was traded from the Mariners to the White Sox on Thursday, Mike Curto of the Tacoma Rainiers broadcast team reports.

The return for the Mariners was unclear, though the move opened up a needed roster space for Triple-A Tacoma. Wong has recorded 109 plate appearances this season with Tacoma and maintained a .315/.422/.500 line. However, the 28-year-old has earned only 18 big-league plate appearances during his career and will likely remain organizational depth with the White Sox.

Drury (suspension) isn't in the Angels' lineup Thursday against Texas, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Drury received a one-game suspension after making contact with an umpire during Monday's game, and he will pay the price Thursday. While Drury sits, Luis Rengifo will fill in as the Angels' second baseman and bat ninth.
