Albies went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Brewers.

Albies had hit a cold spell, going 0-for-14 over his previous four contests. He'd also gone 12 games without a homer since he popped a pair of them July 4 in Cleveland. The second baseman's recent slump has him down to a .257/.319/.503 slash line with 23 homers, 69 RBI, 58 runs scored and seven stolen bases through 98 games this season.

Arroyo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets due to a jammed right thumb, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

He appeared to be losing playing time to Enrique Hernandez at second base with three straight games on the bench, but manager Alex Cora revealed Arroyo has been dealing with a jammed thumb over the past few days. The 28-year-old could be available off the bench Sunday and will have Monday's team off day to aid in his recovery ahead of Tuesday's series opener versus Atlanta.

Manager Aaron Boone said Torres was removed from Sunday's win over the Royals due to hip tightness, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

Torres' departure initially appeared to have been due to head injury, but he actually tweaked his hip. The 26-year-old went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer before exiting the contest, and he'll have Monday's team off day to rest up before Tuesday's series opener versus the Mets.

Lux (knee) said Saturday that he'll be able to start running on the field at the end of next week and that he could start hitting off a tee in early August, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Lux is recovering from a torn ACL and LCL suffered early in spring training. He began running on a treadmill in late June and is now nearing on-field running. Though this is a sign that he's making good progress, Lux is not expected to return this season. However, there's a strong chance that he'll be fully recovered by spring training next year.

Torres was removed in the bottom of the seventh inning of Sunday's game against the Royals with a possible head injury, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. He went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run prior to departing.

Hoch notes that Torres appeared to hurt his head while attempting to make a play in the field in the top of the third inning, but he proceeded to stay in the game and didn't exit until his fourth turn through the batting order came up four innings later. Expect the Yankees to provide an update on Torres' status following the game.

Hernandez will start at second base and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Mets, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

He'll be manning the keystone for the third time in four games and seems to have overtaken Christian Arroyo as the Red Sox's preferred option at the position. Considering that Hernandez has maintained a .143/.189/.143 slash line since the beginning of July, any hold he has on an everyday role is likely a tenuous one.

Enrique Hernandez will get the nod at the keystone Sunday and appears to have overtaken Arroyo as the preferred option at the position.

Rengifo will start at second base and bat leadoff in Sunday's game against the Pirates, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Rengifo will pick up a fourth consecutive start after going 3-for-10 with a home run and two walks over the Angels' prior three contests. At least until the Angels get Brandon Drury (shoulder) back from the 10-day injured list, Rengifo should have a fairly clear path to near-everyday playing time in the infield.

The Cardinals optioned Fermin to Triple-A Memphis on Sunday.

He'll cede his spot on the 26-man active roster to infielder Taylor Motter, whose contract was selected from Memphis in a corresponding move. After receiving the promotion to the majors July 7, Fermin appeared in five games (four starts) and went 1-for-11 with a walk and a run scored.

The Cardinals selected Motter's contract from Triple-A Memphis on Sunday. He'll start at second base and bat eighth in the Cardinals' series finale with the Cubs.

The addition of Motter gives the Cardinals some short-term insurance in the middle infield while Nolan Gorman is day-to-day with back tightness. St. Louis optioned infielder Jose Fermin to Memphis to clear a spot on the 26-man active roster for Motter, who hit .200 over 20 at-bats with the Cardinals earlier this season.
