  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Triples, drives in three Tuesday

Hoerner went 1-for-5 with a three-run triple in Tuesday's 6-0 win over the Padres.

Hoerner made his lone hit count, as he cleared the bases with his first triple of the season in the eighth inning. The infielder has been off to a hot start, as he's now batting .347 and has also stolen nine bases in 11 attempts. Hoerner could be in line for a career-best campaign if he stays healthy.

  • Mauricio Dubon SS | ATL

Astros' Mauricio Dubon: Doubles twice to extend streak

Dubon went 2-for-5 with two doubles, a run scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's win over the Rays.

Dubon scored the first run in Tuesday's contest, doubling with one out in the fifth inning before coming around to score on a Jeremy Pena hit. Dubon would add his second double in the ninth before swiping third base, his second steal of the year. Dubon has hit safely in 18 consecutive games since going 0-for-3 on Opening Day. He's filled in admirably for Jose Altuve (thumb) at second base, slashing .329/.348/.424 with four RBI and 18 runs scored through 89 plate appearances.

  • Taylor Motter 2B | STL

Cardinals' Taylor Motter: Sent outright to Memphis

Motter cleared waivers and accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A Memphis on Tuesday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Motter was cleared off the 40-man roster after hitting just .222/.300/.333 over plate appearances and being designated for assignment by the Cardinals on Sunday. The veteran infielder will give the team some depth in Triple-A, but he'll need to be added back to the 40-man roster in order to receive a promotion back to St. Louis.

  • Red Sox's Christian Arroyo: Leaves with hamstring tightness

Arroyo left Tuesday's game against the Orioles with right hamstring tightness as a precaution, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports. He went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored before leaving.

The infielder has been replaced by Enmanuel Valdez at second base. Arroyo has dealt with a hamstring injury for the majority of the year, and Boston won't take any chances with the 27-year-old. He should be considered day-to-day.

  • Lenyn Sosa 2B | TOR

White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Sits amid slump

Sosa is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays.

Sosa has taken on a near-everyday role in the middle infield since Tim Anderson (knee) was placed on the 10-day injured list April 11, but the 23-year-old hasn't done much to capitalize on the opportunity. After mustering just one hit in 18 at-bats over his last six games, Sosa will retreat to the bench Tuesday while Romy Gonzalez gets a turn at second base.

  • Luis Arraez 2B | SF

Marlins' Luis Arraez: Remains sidelined Tuesday

Arraez (knee) remains out of the lineup Tuesday versus Atlanta.

It's the third straight absence for Arraez, who's dealing with some minor bruising in his left knee. There's been no indication that it's anything overly concerning. The 26-year-old second baseman has delivered a stellar .444/.506/.583 batting line in 20 games (81 plate appearances) when healthy this year with Miami. Jon Berti is playing second base Tuesday.

  • Luis Garcia 1B | WAS

Nationals' Luis Garcia: Batting second Tuesday

Garcia is batting second and starting at second base Tuesday against the Mets.

Garcia has shown a little more life at the plate lately and even drew back-to-back turns out of the cleanup spot over the weekend in Minnesota, but he's slashing just .224/.270/.345 overall this season. Lacking in both power and speed, the 22-year-old still profiles as a non-factor in most fantasy formats even with a prominent lineup spot.

  • Gleyber Torres 2B | DET

Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Getting breather Tuesday

Torres is out of the lineup Tuesday in Minnesota, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports.

Torres appears to be receiving a routine maintenance day. The Yankees will turn to Oswald Peraza to man second base while Torres takes a seat.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Taking seat Tuesday

Lowe is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Lowe went 0-for-5 with five strikeouts Monday and is 0-for-13 with nine strikeouts in his last three games overall, so it's probably not a bad time for the Rays to give him a break. It's the first time this season that he's been on the bench versus a right-hander, as Luis Garcia is taking the hill for Houston. Taylor Walls will handle second base in Lowe's absence.

  • David Hensley 1B | DET

Astros' David Hensley: Gets call at designated hitter

Hensley is in the designated hitter spot and batting eighth for the Astros on Tuesday in Tampa Bay, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

It will be Hensley at DH and Corey Julks in left field with Yordan Alvarez (neck) sidelined. Hensley has just seven hits in 45 at-bats so far this season for Houston.
