Brett Wisely 2B | TB
Giants' Brett Wisely: Relegated to Sacramento
The Giants optioned Wisely to Triple-A Sacramento on Friday.
The 26-year-old will be pushed out of the Giants' infield room following the return of Christian Koss (hamstring) from the injured list. Wisely owns a .208/.269/.354 slash line through 54 plate appearances in the big leagues this season but figures to be on the short list to return to San Francisco if another Giants infielder goes down.

Christian Koss SS | SF
Giants' Christian Koss: Activated from IL
The Giants reinstated Koss (hamstring) from the injured list Friday.
Koss landed on the injured list at the beginning of July with a left hamstring strain but looked pretty good during his five-game rehab assignment, going 9-for-22 at the plate with a home run, six RBI and five runs scored. Now fully healthy, he'll reclaim a spot on the Giants' bench and replace Brett Wisely on the 26-man roster.

Nolan Gorman 2B | STL
Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Reinstated from injured list
The Cardinals reinstated Gorman (back) from the injured list Friday.
Gorman landed on the injured list July 19 with pain in his lower back, but he's been given the green light to return to St. Louis after going 3-for-13 with a homer during his rehab assignment in Double-A. With Nolan Arenado (shoulder) moving to the IL in a corresponding move, Gorman figures to step in as the Cardinals' third baseman for the short-term future.

Tristan Gray SS | BOS
Rays' Tristan Gray: Up from Durham
The Rays recalled Gray from Triple-A Durham on Friday.
Just two days after being sent down to Triple-A, Gray will return to Tampa to fill some of the holes left on the roster from Thursday's trade deadline. The 29-year-old is just 1-for-6 at the plate in the majors this year but slashed .270/.333/.472 during his time with the White Sox's Triple-A affiliate.

Luisangel Acuna 2B | NYM
Mets' Luisangel Acuna: Sent down to Triple-A
The Mets optioned Acuna to Triple-A Syracuse on Friday.
To make room for trade acquisition Cedric Mullins, Acuna was sent packing. The 23-year-old Acuna was hardly playing and should benefit from more consistent at-bats in the minors. Acuna figures to be back up to provide bench depth when rosters expand to 28 players Sept. 1, if not sooner.

Brice Matthews SS | HOU
Astros' Brice Matthews: Sent back to Triple-A
The Astros optioned Matthews to Triple-A Sugar Land on Friday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Houston's top prospect, Matthews got his first taste of the big leagues in July and slashed .143/.211/.400 with three home runs, eight RBI, five runs scored and a 2:18 BB:K across 40 plate appearances. With Jeremy Pena (ribs) back from the IL and the addition of Carlos Correa, the Astros can let Matthews get more seasoning in the minors.

Jonathan India 2B | KC
Royals' Jonathan India: Back in lineup Friday
India (shoulder) is leading off and starting at second base in Friday's game against the Blue Jays.
India left Tuesday's game early and didn't play Wednesday before the Royals had an off day Thursday. He's back atop the order and slashing .240/.322/.342 with five home runs, 32 RBI, 47 runs scored and a 39:71 BB:K across 433 plate appearances this season.

Edouard Julien 2B | MIN
Twins' Edouard Julien: Summoned from Triple-A
The Twins recalled Julien from Triple-A St. Paul on Friday, LaVelle E. Neal III of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.
With Luke Keaschall (forearm) staying in Triple-A for a longer rehab assignment, Julien may get steady time at second base and first base in the near term after the Twins shipped out nine players at the trade deadline. Julien had heated up at Triple-A after struggling in the majors this spring, as he was hitting .276/.415/.464 with 11 home runs in 70 games at St. Paul.

Nolan Gorman 2B | STL
Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Set to return Friday
Gorman (back) is expected to be activated off the 10-day injured list Friday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.
The 25-year-old went 3-for-13 with a double and a homer during his three-game rehab assignment, clearing the way for him to rejoin the Cardinals after recovering from lower-back pain. Gorman could be a regular presence in the lineup since the corresponding transaction will be Nolan Arenado (shoulder) heading to the IL.

Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL
Braves' Ozzie Albies: Four hits in wild win
Albies went 4-for-6 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI in Thursday's 12-11 extra-inning win over the Reds.
The second baseman led a 13-hit attack for Atlanta, scoring multiple runs in a game for the first time since May 29. Albies is on pace for the worst season of his career, but he's shown signs of life at the plate since the All-Star break, slashing .289/.411/.467 over the last 13 contests with two doubles, two homers, two steals, eight runs, 13 RBI and a strong 10:10 BB:K.
