  • Justin Foscue DH | TEX

Rangers' Justin Foscue: Not in lineup again Thursday

Foscue is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest against the White Sox.

Foscue started at designated hitter in four straight games upon his promotion, but after going just 1-for-13 with seven strikeouts in those contests, he'll now sit out for the second day in a row. Robbie Grossman will serve as the Rangers' DH on Thursday.

  • Jorge Mateo 2B | BAL

Orioles' Jorge Mateo: Will miss 'significant' time

Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said Thursday that Mateo (elbow) will miss "a significant amount of time," Paige Leckie of MLB.com reports.

Mateo landed on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a partially dislocated elbow, the result of a collision with teammate Gunnar Henderson earlier this week. The Orioles won't know more about a potential timetable for the infielder's return until the swelling goes down, but surgery is a possibility. Even if Mateo doesn't wind up going under the knife, it sounds like he'll be sidelined for at least several weeks. Jordan Westburg and Connor Norby will handle the reps at second base for now, and Jackson Holliday could also eventually get another look.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Four hits vs. Red Sox

Rodgers went 4-for-5 with a double, four runs scored and a pair of RBI in Wednesday's 20-7 win over Boston.

Rodgers has at least one hit in six straight games following the All-Star break -- he's gone 9-for-25 (.360) with a home run in that span. Overall, the 27-year-old second baseman is slashing .270/.313/.394 with seven homers, 41 runs scored and 33 RBI across 336 plate appearances this season.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Strong performance against Oakland

Altuve went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored Wednesday against the Athletics.

Altuve did the majority of his damage in the seventh inning when he doubled in a run and then came around to score. He's come out of the All-Star break hitting well, collecting eight hits across 24 at-bats.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Homers in third straight

Marte went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and a walk in Wednesday's win over the Royals.

Marte singled in his first trip to the plate and later added a three-run shot in the top of the ninth to extend Arizona's lead, giving him his third straight game with a home run. He's also recorded multiple hits and at least two RBI in three straight games, boosting his average to .296 on the season. In the month of July, the second baseman is batting .338 with five homers, 15 RBI and 13 runs scored.

  • Connor Norby 3B | MIA

Orioles' Connor Norby: Called up Thursday

The Orioles recalled Norby from Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday.

The rookie had been on the taxi squad while the Orioles evaluated Jorge Mateo (elbow), and Norby is now on the active roster after Mateo was placed on the injured list in a corresponding move. The 24-year-old Norby will see some reps at second base while Mateo is out, though the team will also use Jordan Westburg at the keystone on days Ramon Urias handles third base. Norby will start at second base and bat eighth in Thursday's series finale in Miami.

  • Jorge Mateo 2B | BAL

Orioles' Jorge Mateo: Placed on IL with elbow injury

The Orioles placed Mateo on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a left elbow subluxation.

Mateo suffered the partial dislocation of his elbow during Tuesday's game against the Marlins in a collision with teammate Gunnar Henderson. It's unclear how much time the infielder might miss, but an absence longer than the minimum 10 days is certainly possible. The Orioles recalled Connor Norby from Triple-A Norfolk in a corresponding move to add depth in the infield.

  • Gleyber Torres 2B | NYY

Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Stays hot in loss

Torres went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 12-3 loss to the Mets.

Torres gave the Yankees a good start with a leadoff homer to begin the bottom of the first inning. The 27-year-old has homered in consecutive games after going 15 contests without a long ball dating back to June 29. The second baseman is up to 10 homers, 37 RBI, 45 runs scored, four stolen bases, 15 doubles and a .232/.308/.363 slash line through 98 games this season.

  • Luis Garcia 2B | WAS

Nationals' Luis Garcia: Two hits, steal in loss

Garcia went 2-for-4 with a triple and a stolen base in Wednesday's 12-3 loss to the Padres.

Garcia snapped an 0-for-7 skid at the plate and also picked up his first steal since July 5. The infielder is up to 13 thefts on 16 attempts this season. He's added a .278/.308/.442 slash line with 11 home runs, 45 RBI, 34 runs scored and 17 doubles over 87 contests, putting him on pace for a career year in nearly every offensive category, though he remains limited to a strong-side platoon role at second base.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Perfect at plate Wednesday

Bogaerts went 4-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored in Wednesday's 12-3 win over the Nationals.

Bogaerts kept his bat hot and had no trouble keeping the line moving in the blowout win. He's recorded six multi-hit efforts in seven games since he returned from a fractured left shoulder, going 14-for-29 (.483) in that span, though all of those hits have been singles. The infielder is slashing .255/.296/.338 with four home runs, 15 RBI, 26 runs scored and five stolen bases over 54 contests this season, but it appears fantasy managers will have to be patient in waiting for his power to return.
