Jeff McNeil 2B | NYM
Mets' Jeff McNeil: Not starting Sunday
McNeil is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.
McNeil went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts Saturday after he clubbed two homers in the second-half opener Friday, and he'll head to the bench for Sunday's contest as lefty Trevor Rogers takes the mound for Miami. Tyrone Taylor will receive a start in right field while Jose Iglesias mans the keystone.

Luis Garcia 2B | WAS
Nationals' Luis Garcia: Taking seat vs. lefty
Garcia is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.
The Reds are bringing a lefty (Andrew Abbott) to the hill for the second day in a row, so the left-handed-hitting Garcia will once again take a seat. Ildemaro Vargas will sub in for Garcia at second base.

Nolan Gorman 2B | STL
Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Goes yard in Game 2
Gorman went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 9-5 win over Atlanta in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.
Gorman sat out the matinee game, and he delivered in the nightcap with a go-ahead blast in the second inning. The homer was his first since July 2 and his 18th of the year, though he also struck out multiple times for the sixth time in seven games. Gorman's 37.9 percent strikeout rate continues to drag down the rest of his line -- he's slashing .207/.279/.420 with 18 homers, 49 RBI, 39 runs scored, six stolen bases and 13 doubles. Given his contact troubles, Gorman is likely to remain in a strong-side platoon role at second base, and he could begin to sit against some right-handers as well if he doesn't correct course.

Gavin Lux 2B | LAD
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Goes deep Saturday
Lux went 2-for-2 with a solo home run and a double in a 7-6 extra-innings win over the Red Sox on Saturday.
Lux got the scoring started in the contest with a solo shot in the second inning. He added a double before giving way to a pinch hitter in the seventh frame. Lux has three multi-hit efforts and a pair of long balls over his past six games, during which he's batting .353. The two homers during that span equal half of his season total of four over 80 contests.

Justin Foscue DH | TEX
Rangers' Justin Foscue: Draws start in return to MLB
Foscue started at designated hitter and went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Saturday's 8-4 loss to Baltimore.
Foscue was called up from Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday, his second stint in the majors this season. The Rangers are in the lower third of the league in OPS (.689) and are willing to give Foscue a look, as they did with Derek Hill, who was designated to make room for Foscue. The latter hit .271/.431/.469 with four home runs, seven doubles and 18 RBI in 29 games in the minors.

Curtis Mead 2B | TB
Rays' Curtis Mead: Three hits in return to majors
Mead went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored Saturday against the Yankees.
Mead was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Saturday to replace Yandy Diaz (personal) on the roster and immediately was in the lineup as the designated against lefty Nestor Cortes. It's unclear how long Diaz will be away from the team, but it's possible that Mead will continue to serve in a short-side platoon role at a combination of second and third base as well as designated hitter.

Andy Ibanez 2B | DET
Tigers' Andy Ibanez: Two hits, two RBI in win
Ibanez went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Blue Jays.
Ibanez got the Tigers on the board with an RBI double in the fifth inning and then added an RBI single and scored on a wild pitch in the seventh. While he isn't playing every day, the 31-year-old is hitting a ridiculous .388 with all four of his home runs and 20 of his 23 RBI against left-handed pitching this season.

Edouard Julien 2B | MIN
Twins' Edouard Julien: Joins big club, starting Saturday
Julien was recalled from Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports. He'll bat ninth and play second base against the Brewers.
With Carlos Correa (foot) placed on the injured list, the Twins had a significant need for middle infield depth, and opted to bring Julien up to the big-league roster. The 25-year-old has 194 plate appearances with Minnesota this season, slashing .207/.309/.367 with seven home runs and six stolen bases.

Justin Foscue DH | TEX
Rangers' Justin Foscue: Called up Saturday
Foscue was called up from Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.
Foscue will make his return to the big leagues after missing two months with an oblique injury and then being optioned to Triple-A on June 20 upon activation from the 60-day injured list. The 25-year-old produced a .242 average with three home runs, 13 RBI, 13 runs scored and a stolen base over 19 games with Round Rock after his activation. Foscue will provide the Rangers with a depth option behind Marcus Semien at second base and Josh Smith a third base on the major-league roster with Texas.
