Machado went 2-for-4 and scored twice in Thursday's win over Boston.

The All-Star entered the game stuck in a miserable 0-for-18 slump, but broke through with a first-inning single. Still, Machado's .211/.289/.407 slash line through 51 games represents career-worst numbers across the board. Most would assume the slugger will turn things around, but the sample size (204 at-bats) is no longer small, and owners have a right to be biting their fingernails as June begins.

Segura (ankle) is undergoing additional tests on the injury he incurred during Thursday's game, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

Segura hurt his ankle while sliding into second base Thursday and had to be helped off the field. More information regarding the severity of the ailment is expected to be released Friday, but the team doesn't expect him to be available for the next few days. In his place, look for Taylor Motter to fill in at shortstop.

Segura was removed early from Thursday's game with the Rockies due to an apparent ankle injury, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

Prior to exiting, Segura was 0-for-2 with a walk. He unsuccessfully tried to advance to second base on a sacrifice fly and appeared to injure himself on the slide. It's unclear how severe the injury is, but it's certainly not a good sign that he had to be helped off the field. Consider him day-to-day until more information is released. Taylor Motter moved to shortstop to fill in for him.

Wilson was traded to the Indians on Thursday in exchange for cash considerations.

The 36-year-old has been tearing it up at Triple-A Round Rock this season, posting a .918 OPS in 22 games with the Express. This intrigued the Tribe enough to bring him over to Cleveland, although he'll likely spend more time as an organizational depth piece given the lack of room on the big-league roster.

Manager Buck Showalter said that he has no intentions of removing Machado (.205/.286/.405) from the third spot in the batting order, BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Machado has spiraled into a funk unlike any in his career. The superstar's entire slash line, his 21.9 percent strikeout rate and Machado's .220 BABIP are all significantly worse than his career averages. "It's frustrating for him. If you think it's frustrating for somebody else, triple it (for Machado)," Showalter said. "Sometimes, you can want it too much. It's a long process." The skipper made sure to point out that the third baseman, despite his enormous struggles, leads the team in RBI (25) and is tied for first with 10 home runs. Hitting third will continue giving Machado plenty of opportunities to rack up counting stats.

Longoria went 2-for-4 with an RBI single and a walk in Wednesday's 7-5 extra-inning win over the Rangers.

The slugging third baseman went on an impressive tear over the last 13 games of May, compiling a .372 wOBA, three homers, 10 RBI and a 39.6 percent hard contact rate in his 60 plate appearances over that span. While his .242 average remains a work in progress, the veteran has lowered his strikeout rate from last season's 21.0 percent to 18.0 percent while upping his walk rate from 6.1 percent to 10.2 percent.

Valencia went 2-for-4 with a two-run double and a run in Wednesday's 5-0 win over the Rockies.

Valencia's second-inning two-bagger opened the scoring on the day and gave the veteran infielder a solid 14 RBI in May. The 32-year-old wraps up the month having reached safely in nine straight games and having generated a .306/.364/.459 line over 107 plate appearances.

Devers, 20, is hitting just .179 over his last 10 games for Double-A Portland.

One of the youngest players at this level, Devers is still more than holding his own overall. He is slashing .287/.355/.503 with eight home runs and 29 RBI through 45 games. With no real competition blocking his path at the hot corner, Devers has a slight chance to reach the majors sometime this summer if he heats back up.

Plouffe is out of the lineup Thursday against the Indians.

Plouffe will be held out of the starting lineup after making three straight starts, and 12 of the last 13 overall. He'll give way to Ryon Healy -- who owns an .847 OPS since the start of May -- at third base.

Bregman went 2-for-6 with a home run and two RBI in Wednesday's 17-6 rout of the Twins.

He's now homered in three straight games, and all six of his long balls on the season have come since May 14. Bregman had a very slow start to the year at the plate, particularly in the power categories, but fantasy GMs who were patient with him -- or who took a chance on him while he was struggling -- are now beginning to reap the rewards.
