  • Jace Jung 3B | DET

Tigers' Jace Jung: On bench Thursday

Jung is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Padres.

Jung started in three consecutive games before Thursday's game. In that span, he collected one hit and a walk across 11 plate appearances. Andy Ibanez has the start at third base and is batting second Thursday.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Angels' Anthony Rendon: Absent from lineup

Rendon is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rangers.

Rendon started the previous eight tilts but managed just a .598 OPS over that stretch. Charles Leblanc will draw a start at third base and bat seventh while Rendon gets some rest.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | HOU

Astros' Alex Bregman: Doubles in return

Bregman went 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored Wednesday against the Reds.

Bregman returned from a four-game absence with a lingering elbow injury. He led off the second inning with a double and came around to score. Bregman was ultimately pulled in the fifth inning with the Astros down 10-1.

  • Brooks Lee SS | MIN

Twins' Brooks Lee: Day off Thursday

Lee is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Tampa Bay.

Lee started the last four games after being activated from the injured list, but he'll get a day off for Thursday's series finale. Willi Castro is handling shortstop for the the Twins, while Austin Martin will be in center field.

  • Rafael Devers 3B | BOS

Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Another hitless night

Devers batted second and went 0-for-3 with an RBI in Wednesday's 8-3 loss to the Mets.

Devers was moved up the batting order behind Jarren Duran with the hope he'd see more fastballs and emerge from a slump. The theory was sound, but it didn't work out. Devers drove in a run on a sacrifice fly -- his first RBI in seven games -- but went hitless for the fifth time in the last six contests (1-for-24, seven strikeouts).

  • Luis Urias 3B | SEA

Mariners' Luis Urias: Huge performance in win

Urias went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, four RBI and two runs scored while also drawing a walk in Wednesday's win over the Athletics.

Urias brought home Mitch Garver with an RBI double in the top of the fourth before coming around to score himself on a Dylan Moore single as the Mariners took a 5-1 lead. The infielder then added a leadoff homer in the seventh to extend the lead, followed by another RBI double in the eighth, giving him his first three-hit performance of the campaign, as well as his first hits since being promoted to the majors last week. Urias' four RBI on the night also marked a season high.

  • Ezequiel Duran 3B | TEX

Rangers' Ezequiel Duran: Two doubles in three-hit effort

Duran went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 10-6 win over the Yankees.

Duran saw sparse playing time during August after Wyatt Langford and Josh Jung returned from injuries. This was Duran's third multi-hit effort in his last 15 games, a span in which he's gone 8-for-31 (.258). He could be in the mix for playing time at shortstop while Corey Seager (hip) is on the injured list, but Duran figures to be on the short side of a platoon there with the left-handed-hitting Josh Smith. For the year, Duran is slashing .255/.293/.321 with two home runs, 16 RBI, 21 runs scored, eight doubles and one stolen base over 225 plate appearances.

  • Josh H. Smith 3B | TEX

Rangers' Josh Smith: Swipes bag in win

Smith went 2-for-5 with a double, one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Wednesday's 10-6 win over the Yankees.

Smith has hit safely in six of his last seven games, going 8-for-26 (.308) with three RBI in that span. He got a rare look at leadoff with Marcus Semien sitting out Wednesday, though Smith has regularly batted third versus right-handers lately. He should be in line for a strong-side platoon role at shortstop while Corey Seager (hip) is on the injured list. Smith is slashing .268/.354/.413 with 12 home runs, 54 RBI, 57 runs scored and nine steals over 129 contests this season.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | SEA

Mariners' Josh Rojas: Getting breather against LHP

Rojas isn't in Seattle's lineup for Wednesday's game against Oakland.

The left-handed bat of Rojas will step out of the starting nine Wednesday while southpaw JP Sears starts on the bump for the A's. Luis Urias will pick up a start at third base while batting eighth.

  • Bryan Ramos 3B | CHW

White Sox's Bryan Ramos: Recalled to Chicago

The White Sox recalled Ramos from Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.

With Brooks Baldwin (wrist) headed for the injured list, the White Sox will call upon Ramos to make up for the lost depth in their infield. The 22-year-old hasn't appeared in a major-league game since late May, though he could have an opportunity to make some starts at third base if Miguel Vargas (eye) continues to sit out.
