Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN
Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: Powers up in win
Suarez went 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double, three RBI and three runs scored in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Astros.
Suarez opened and closed the scoring Thursday, smashing a two-run blast in the second inning and adding a solo shot in the ninth. This was his first multi-homer game of the season. He's been hitting better of late, going 16-for-49 (.327) over his last 14 games while racking up four homers and 13 RBI in that span. The third baseman is up to a .230/.318/.383 slash line with 11 long balls, 52 RBI, 35 runs scored, 15 doubles and a stolen base through 86 contests.

Tyler Nevin 3B | ATH
Tigers' Tyler Nevin: Optioned to Toledo
Detroit optioned Nevin to Triple-A Toledo on Thursday, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.
Nevin, 26, has posted an ugly .122/.214/.184 batting line in 22 games this season at the major-league level. Akil Baddoo (quad) is expected to return from the injured list Friday to fill the vacant 26-man roster spot.

Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL
Yankees' Josh Donaldson: Homers Wednesday
Donaldson went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 6-3 loss against Baltimore.
Donaldson was one of the few Yankees who had success against Dean Kremer on Wednesday. After knocking a base hit in the second inning, the veteran third baseman broke a scoreless tie in the fifth with an opposite-field shot. Donaldson is now just 13-for-87 on the season, though nine of his hits have been home runs. Overall, he's slashing just .149/.216/.471 with 14 RBI and 12 runs scored through 97 plate appearances.

Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA
Angels' Anthony Rendon: Could return Friday
Rendon (shin) could return to the Angels' lineup as soon as Friday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Rendon is not in Wednesday's lineup after fouling a ball off his left shin Tuesday. The Halos aren't putting him on the injured list yet, though, because he could be ready after the off day Thursday. Rendon will be evaluated the next two days and if it's determined he does need to go on the IL, he'd be eligible to return the second game after the All-Star break.

Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU
Rays' Isaac Paredes: Sitting Wednesday
Paredes is not in Wednesday's lineup against the Phillies.
Paredes was able to return for Tuesday's game after suffering bruised ribs during a collision in Sunday's game, and this seems like this is just a rest day. He is hitting .258 with two home runs, one steal, nine walks and four strikeouts over his last 10 games.

Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA
Angels' Anthony Rendon: Sitting out with bruised shin
Rendon (shin) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Padres, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Rendon had to be lifted from Tuesday's game in San Diego due to a left shin contusion after fouling a ball off his leg. The good news is X-rays came back clean and Rendon is still listed on the Angels' lineup card as a reserve, so it appears he'll avoid the injured list. Eduardo Escobar is playing third base Wednesday.

Jake Burger 1B | TEX
White Sox's Jake Burger: On bench Wednesday
Burger is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Blue Jays.
Zach Remillard will start at third base and bat eighth versus the Jays and right-hander Jose Berrios. Burger was a great surprise for the White Sox over the first two months of the 2023 season, but he is batting just .150 with a .620 OPS in 109 plate appearances since the beginning of June.

Jace Peterson SS | ARI
Athletics' Jace Peterson: Takes seat versus lefty
Peterson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.
The lefty-hitting Peterson will give way to Aledmys Diaz at third base while southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez takes the bump for Detroit. Peterson -- who also sat Tuesday against lefty Tarik Skubal -- is slashing just .171/.222/.171 in 46 plate appearances versus southpaws in 2023.

Jose Miranda 3B | MIN
Twins' Jose Miranda: Taking seat Wednesday
Miranda is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Royals.
Miranda started each of the last three days at third base after coming up to take Royce Lewis' (oblique) roster spot but went hitless in each game. He'll now take a seat for this one in favor of Donovan Solano.

Josh Jung 3B | TEX
Rangers' Josh Jung: Flip flops with Lowe
Jung batted third and went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI in Tuesday's 6-2 win over Boston.
Jung and Nathaniel Lowe were switched in the batting order, and the rookie third baseman produced a second straight multi-hit game. He has hits in seven of the last eight games, going 10-for-32 with two doubles, two home runs and seven RBI during that stretch. Manager Bruce Bochy has toyed around with Jung hitting third -- Tuesday was the fourth time in the last 15 games -- but the manager hasn't made it a permanent fixture.
