Alex Bregman 3B | CHC
Astros' Alex Bregman: Hitting second in return
Bregman (hamstring) is starting at third base and hitting second in Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader against Oakland, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
As promised, Bregman is off the injured list after missing almost three weeks with a hamstring injury. He may get a maintenance day here and there down the stretch in an effort to prevent re-injury.

Matt Reynolds 3B | CIN
Royals' Matt Reynolds: Contract selected by Royals
Reynolds' contract was selected by the Royals on Tuesday.
Reynolds will join the active roster with Jorge Soler (oblique) landing on the injured list in a corresponding move. Reynolds owns a career .223/.295/.340 slash line in 240 plate appearances, the most recent of which came in 2018, so he's likely to be limited to a bench role during his time with the club.

Abraham Toro 1B | BOS
Astros' Abraham Toro: Starts at third base
Toro went 1-for-3 in Monday's 6-0 loss to Oakland.
Toro, who had one of Houston's seven singles, started at third base in place of the injured Alex Bregman (hamstring). He's started four of the past five games, but his playing time figures to take a hit, as Bregman is expected to come off the injured list Tuesday.

Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE
Indians' Jose Ramirez: Likely out Tuesday
Ramirez will have his left thumb evaluated Tuesday, but is likely to be out of the lineup for at least one game, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
Ramirez left Monday's contest early with the injury, which has been nagging him for a few weeks. While a clear timetable will emerge after further tests, it appears the team will take a cautious approach with Ramirez's return. Acting manager Sandy Alomar stated that he is leaning toward starting Mike Freeman at third base to fill in for Ramirez.

Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE
Indians' Jose Ramirez: Exits Monday's contest
Ramirez left Monday's game against the Royals with a left thumb injury, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
It was noted that Ramirez had been dealing with the injury for a few weeks, though it's unclear if he aggravated it further. The issue didn't appear to affect him much at the plate, as he's slugged four homers in his past 11 games. Still, the team could opt to hold him out as a precaution given his importance for any potential playoff run.

Matt Chapman 3B | SF
Athletics' Matt Chapman: No injured list trip expected
Chapman was diagnosed with right hip tendinitis Monday but is not expected to head to the injured list, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Chapman suffered the injury, which was originally called a strain, Sunday against San Diego. It remains unclear when exactly he'll return, but that should happen within the next few days. Tommy La Stella will serve as the third baseman Monday, with Tony Kemp starting at second base.

Alex Bregman 3B | CHC
Astros' Alex Bregman: Will return Tuesday
Bregman (hamstring) remains out of the lineup Monday against Oakland but will be activated ahead of Tuesday's contest, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Bregman was expected to miss three weeks after straining his hamstring in mid-August, and he'll wind up returning more or less on schedule. The third baseman considered himself fully healthy back on Thursday, though it's still possible the Astros ease him back into action with the occasional off day.

Matt Chapman 3B | SF
Athletics' Matt Chapman: Sits as expected
Chapman (hip) is out of the lineup as expected Monday against the Astros.
Chapman isn't expected to return before Wednesday after suffering a hip strain Sunday against the Padres. Whether or not he'll require a trip to the injured list remains to be seen. Tommy La Stella will be the third baseman Monday.

Jeimer Candelario 3B | LAA
Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: Doubles, scores twice Monday
Candelario went 2-for-4 with a walk, two doubles and two runs scored in Monday's 6-2 loss to the Twins.
Minnesota starter Michael Pineda only allowed three hits across seven innings, but two of them were doubles into the left field corner by Candelario. The 26-year-old infielder is enjoying something of a breakout campaign in 2020, as he's now batting .313 with an .890 OPS to go along with four home runs, 19 RBI and 21 runs scored in 36 games.

Yadiel Rivera 3B | MIL
Rangers' Yadiel Rivera: Clears waivers
The Rangers outrighted Rivera to their alternate training site Sunday.
Rivera cleared waivers after the Rangers designated him for assignment Friday. Though he'll remain in the organization, his chances of resurfacing with the big club in 2020 have been reduced now that he no longer occupies a spot on the 40-man roster.
