Manny Machado 3B | SD
Padres' Manny Machado: Salvages day with late homer
Machado went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's 6-1 victory over the Twins.
Machado gave the Padres some extra insurance by swatting a three-run homer in the top of the ninth that plated Austin Nola and Jake Cronenworth to extend the lead to five runs. The 30-year-old was quiet outside of the three-run knock, striking out twice and hitting a single to right. Through 34 games, Machado is slashing .257/.306/.412 with five home runs and 17 RBI. After a slow start to the campaign, Machado has bounced back nicely, batting .368 with four home runs, 10 RBI and 10 runs scored in his last nine appearances.

Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Back in lineup Tuesday
Arenado (neck) is back in the lineup Tuesday against the Cubs, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
Arenado was a late scratch from Monday's series opener at Wrigley Field due to neck stiffness, but he is good to go for the second game of the three-game set. He's starting at third base and batting cleanup versus right-hander Jameson Taillon.

Emmanuel Rivera 3B | BAL
Diamondbacks' Emmanuel Rivera: Batting second Tuesday
Rivera is serving as the designated hitter and batting second Tuesday versus the Marlins.
Rivera has quickly taken on a prominent role in the Diamondbacks' offense, and rightly so. The 26-year-old is slashing .406/.424/.594 through 10 games (33 plate appearances) since his promotion from Triple-A Reno on April 25.

Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA
Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Sitting out Tuesday
Wisdom is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Cardinals.

Rodolfo Castro 2B | PHI
Pirates' Rodolfo Castro: Sitting out Tuesday
Castro is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Rockies, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.
Castro slugged a two-run homer in the Pirates' defeat of the Rockies on Monday night, but he'll get a breather in the second game of the three-game set at PNC Park. Tucupita Marcano is covering shortstop and batting eighth.

Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Marlins' Jean Segura: Ejected as slump deepens
Segura went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts before being ejected from Monday's loss to the Diamondbacks.
The veteran infielder didn't like the called third strike on his final at-bat of the night and slammed his helmet down in frustration, resulting in the ejection. Segura is slashing .160/.222/.200 over his last 15 games, and per Christina De Nicola of MLB.com, he could get some time off soon to clear his head and work on his swing. "He wants to play and try to get out of it," manager Skip Schumaker said Monday. "Sometimes, guys need a couple days of work, sometimes guys want to keep playing and get through it. There's obviously been conversation on both sides of it. We talk to each player every day about how they feel."

Rodolfo Castro 2B | PHI
Pirates' Rodolfo Castro: Blasts go-ahead homer
Castro went 1-for-2 with a walk and two-run home run in Monday's 2-0 win over the Rockies.
Castro's two-run blast in the seventh off Kyle Freeland accounted for the only runs scored Monday. Despite the home run, Castro has struggled since the start of May, collecting just three hits over 18 at-bats while striking out seven times compared to just two walks. He's also committed three defensive errors during that stretch as well.

Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Dealing with neck stiffness
Arenado was scratched from Monday's game against the Cubs due to neck stiffness, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Goold notes that the team is holding him out of the starting nine as a precaution, so it doesn't sound as though he'll need a stint on the injured list at this time. He'll likely be re-evaluated Tuesday morning to determine his availability for the second game of the series in Chicago.
