Evan Longoria 3B | ARI
Giants' Evan Longoria: Mashes grand slam
Longoria went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, four RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's extra-innings victory over the Rockies.
The veteran third baseman powered the Giants' offense with a grand slam in the seventh inning, his 11th home run on the campaign. Longoria is now batting .333 with two home runs and seven RBI since his return from the IL on Aug. 8. If he qualified, Longoria would be seventh among third baseman in slugging percentage, so he could be a sneaky option for fantasy managers looking for a third baseman to plug into their lineup down the stretch.

Jace Peterson SS | ARI
Brewers' Jace Peterson: Ready for rehab assignment
Peterson (elbow) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment at High-A Wisconsin on Tuesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Peterson is expected to play three consecutive days for the High-A affiliate before returning to Milwaukee on Friday and potentially getting activated from the injured list ahead of the Brewers' series opener with the Cubs if team doctors are satisfied with the condition of his sprained left elbow. Once reinstated from the IL, Peterson is expected to settle back in as the Brewers' top utility man.

Matt Reynolds 3B | CIN
Reds' Matt Reynolds: Departs with hip soreness
Reynolds exited Sunday's game against the Pirates due to hip soreness, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Manager David Bell said after Sunday's win that Reynolds has dealt with his hip issue for several days, but the injury was bothering him more as the game progressed Sunday. Prior to his departure, he went 1-for-4 with a strikeout. It's not yet clear whether he'll be available for Monday's series opener in Philadelphia.

Eduardo Escobar 3B | TOR
Mets' Eduardo Escobar: Trending toward Friday return
Mets manager Buck Showalter said Sunday that Escobar (oblique) "is doing really well" and is on track to return from the 10-day injured list Friday against Colorado, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
Though he looks like he'll be ready to come off the IL when first eligible next weekend, Escobar's potential role is more uncertain. Before succumbing to the oblique injury, the righty-hitting Escobar had already fallen into a short-side platoon role at third base behind the lefty-hitting Luis Guillorme (groin), who was placed on the IL shortly before Escobar. Since Escobar joined Guillorme on the shelf, top prospect Brett Baty was called up from Triple-A Syracuse and has collected three hits in 17 at-bats while taking over as the Mets' everyday option at the hot corner. Like Guillorme, Baty bats from the left side of the plate, so Escobar could again find himself in the short side of a platoon if the Mets choose not to demote the rookie to Triple-A.

Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Phillies' Jean Segura: Getting rest Sunday
Segura is not in Sunday's lineup against the Mets.
Segura had been in the lineup for seven consecutive games, including both of the team's contests in a doubleheader Saturday. He hit .346 with an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in that span. Nick Maton will take over at second base and hit seventh.

Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA
Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Remains day-to-day
Wisdom (finger) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers and is considered day-to-day, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
Wisdom appeared to jam his left ring finger while sliding into home during Saturday's win, but X-rays returned negative and he's been diagnosed with a strain. P.J. Higgins will take over for Wisdom at first base Sunday and will hit eighth.

Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY
Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Tallies three hits
McMahon went 3-for-4 with an RBI on Saturday against the Giants.
McMahon recorded his 55th RBI of the season with a single in the third inning. He's quietly had a strong August, maintaining a .356 average with four homers, 12 RBI and nine runs scored across 17 games. Despite that hot stretch, McMahon still has a 97 wRC+ and .328 wOBA across 453 plate appearances for the season.

Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL
Reds' Kyle Farmer: Sitting Sunday
Farmer is out of the lineup Sunday against the Pirates.
Farmer had started 10 consecutive games, during which he hit .405 with four RBI and three runs scored. However, he'll take a seat Sunday with Donovan Solano taking over at the hot corner.

Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Reds' Mike Moustakas: Records RBI in win
Moustakas went 2-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored in Saturday's win over the Pirates.
Moustakas recorded an RBI single in the ninth off lefty reliever Eric Stout to augment the Reds' lead to five. The third baseman has struggled mightily, slashing .056/.150/.056 in 18 at-bats over the seven games prior to his stint on the 10-day IL (calf). Despite the hitter-friendly Great American Ballpark, the 33-year-old has performed better on the road with a .671 OPS in 128 at-bats compared to a .554 OPS in 111 at-bats at home.

Rodolfo Castro 2B | PHI
Pirates' Rodolfo Castro: Homers in blowout loss
Castro went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and one steal in Saturday's 10-1 loss against the Reds.
Castro homered off righty starter Justin Dunn with one out in the fourth to get the Pirates on the board. The second baseman has been finding his groove lately with a .333 average and 1.007 OPS over 36 at-bats in his last 10 games. The 23-year-old has significantly more power on the road with a .500 slugging percentage and six extra-base hits (three triples) in 52 at-bats compared to a .310 slugging percentage and three extra-base hits over 58 at-bats at home.
