Matt Reynolds 3B | CIN
Mets' Matt Reynolds: Called up by Mets
Reynolds' contract was selected by the Mets on Friday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Reynolds rejoined the Mets on a minor-league deal during the offseason, but he'll move up to the big-league club to provide depth after Mark Canha (illness) and Brandon Nimmo (illness) landed on the COVID-19 injured list Friday. J.D. Davis 1B | LAA
Mets' J.D. Davis: Starting Friday
Davis is batting seventh as the designated hitter Friday against the Diamondbacks.
Davis will make his third start of the season Friday, all of which have come as the designated hitter, but it's the first time he'll start against a right-handed pitcher (Zach Davies). The Mets have already started four different players at designated hitter this year, with Pete Alonso, Robinson Cano and Dominic Smith also seeing time. Davis should continue to see most of his playing time against left-handers and may not see much action in the field while the rest of the lineup remains healthy.

Jace Peterson SS | ARI
Brewers' Jace Peterson: Picks up second steal
Peterson went 1-for-2 with two walks, a run and a stolen base in Thursday's victory over the Cardinals.

While Peterson has not made much contact, he has reached base four times via the walk and is one of just 13 players league-wide who has recorded more than one steal. He figures to remain on the favorable end of a third-base platoon with Mike Brosseau until Luis Urias (quad) is ready to play.

It was just the second time in his career that Machado has managed five hits in one game, and he sweetened his stat line with a pair of steals and a seventh-inning two-run homer. With the huge performance, Machado upped his season batting average over 100 points from .231 to .344.
