  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Phillies' Jean Segura: Belts fourth homer

Segura went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in a 7-4 win over the Braves on Friday.

Segura imitated Andrew McCutchen's two-run shot in the third inning with one of his own the following inning to extend the lead to 4-1. It was his first home run since Aug. 15 and his fourth on the year as he upped his RBI total to eight on the season. Segura still has a .235/.326/.407 slash line despite hitting safely in 12 of his last 14 games.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Launches fifth homer

Riley went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in a 7-4 loss to the Phillies on Friday.

Ender Inciarte led off the seventh inning with a home run and Riley followed him up with a blast of his own. The young third baseman has tallied a hit in seven of his last eight games but is still hitting just .216/.263/.409 on the season.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Giants' Evan Longoria: Goes deep in loss

Longoria went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's loss against the Diamondbacks.

Longoria has hit safely in four of his last five games, and he snapped a five-game homer drought with his sixth-inning blast off Zac Gallen. Longoria has been one of the top hitters for the Giants of late, and he has gone 15-for-36 (.416) with two homers, eight RBI and 10 runs scored over San Francisco's last 10 games.

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN

Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Double, homer against Cubs

Suarez went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double, a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in Friday's win over the Cubs.

Suarez got off to one of the slowest starts in baseball this season, but all of a sudden he's up to seven homers, with four of those coming in his last six games. He's raised his OPS from .560 to .728 in that span, so Suarez is bringing his numbers around in a hurry and still has a month left to improve his stats.

  • Nick Senzel 3B | LAD

Reds' Nick Senzel: No update yet

There's been no update on Senzel's (undisclosed injury) status, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

This comment was made by Nightengale in the context of the Reds designating Phillip Ervin for assignment, leaving the team with only four active outfielders.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Still scorching hot

Machado belted a solo home run in four at-bats in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against Seattle.

Machado drilled a pair of solo shots in the first game of the twin bill and added another in the nightcap. The veteran has now gone deep in four of his last five contests and is riding a nine-game hitting streak during which he has gone 19-for-36 (.528) with six homers, 14 RBI and only three strikeouts.

  • Brett Baty RF | NYM

Mets' Brett Baty: Added to 60-man pool

Baty was added to the Mets' 60-man player pool Friday, Jacob Resnick of MetsMerized reports.

One of the organization's top prospects, Baty was selected with the No. 12 overall pick in last year's draft and displayed excellent patience and all-fields power in the lower levels after signing. He may end up sliding down the defensive spectrum to first base or designated hitter, but he has the offensive upside to make that work.

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN

Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Crushes homer in win

Suarez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Brewers.

Suarez has launched long balls in three of his last five games and is also riding a five-game hitting streak, so he is beginning to show signs of a turnaround after a slow start to the season. He is hitting .243 with a .568 slugging percentage across his last 10 games.

  • Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL

Reds' Kyle Farmer: Draws start in Game 2

Farmer is in the starting lineup for Game 2 of Thursday's game against the Brewers, batting eighth and playing shortstop.

Farmer sat in Game 1, but will take the place of Jose Garcia for the second half of the twin bill.

  • Kevin Newman 3B | LAA

Pirates' Kevin Newman: On bench for second game

Newman is not starting Game 2 of Thursday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.

Newman will head to the bench for the second half of Thursday's twin bill after going 1-for-4 in Game 1. Erik Gonzalez is covering shortstop in the nightcap, with Adam Frazier at the keystone and JT Riddle at third base.
