Phillies' Cody Asche: Recalled from Triple-A

Asche was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday.

It was unclear if Asche would return to the big leagues in September, but the Phillies will indeed take on the utility player for the final three weeks of the season. Asche has a career .241/.298/.388 slash line in the majors and has the look of a Quadruple-A bat at this point.

  • Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN

Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Scores two runs in multi-hit effort Friday

Suarez went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs in Friday's 4-3 victory over the Pirates.

The slugging third baseman is off to a red-hot start in September, with four multihit efforts and a .357/.379/.464 line over the first 28 at-bats of the month.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Supplies RBI double in Friday victory

Rendon went 2-for-3 with an RBI double in Friday's 5-4 victory over the Phillies.

He erased an early 1-0 deficit with a run-scoring two-bagger that plated Daniel Murphy in the fourth, the 26-year-old's ninth RBI over his first eight games in September. Rendon has hit safely in seven of those contests and is slashing .320/.400/.520 over his first 25 at-bats of the new month.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Bashes 37th homer

Arenado went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's win over the Giants.

That's now 37 for Arenado, so he's closing right in on last year's total of 42 homers -- and with three-plus weeks to go, he's already sitting on a career-high 102 runs while being just a dozen short of last year's 130 RBI. Indeed, he's been even better in nearly every facet of the game than he was last year; particularly impressive, he's nearly doubled his walk rate while cutting his strikeout rate from last season. It has to be a scary thought for Arenado's NL West opponents that at 25 years old, he may have even better seasons than this ahead of him.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Day off Wednesday

Rendon is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Braves, according to MASN's Dan Kolko.

Rendon is riding a six-game hit streak and hit a grand slam in Tuesday's victory over the Braves, but manager Dusty Baker felt it was time for a day off. Wilmer Difo will get the nod at third base Wednesday in Rendon's place.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Cranks grand slam

Rendon went 1-for-4 with a walk, a grand slam, and two runs scored in the Nationals' 9-6 win over the Braves on Tuesday.

Rendon's blast came in the third inning with no one out off Braves starter Williams Perez. Rendon has really come on strong during the second half of the season, hitting .315/.383/.560 over 46 games since the All-Star Break. Over that span, he has more RBI (36) than he had in nearly twice as many games before the break.

  • Jace Peterson SS | ARI

Braves' Jace Peterson: Not in Tuesday's lineup

Peterson is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Nationals.

Peterson tallied four hits and three RBI over his last three games, but the Braves will stick to their second-base platoon and use Gordon Beckham at second base Tuesday.

  • Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN

Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Not in Tuesday's lineup

Suarez is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mets, according to Jamie Ramsey of MLB.com.

Suarez has five hits in four games this month, but he has had just two days off since the All-Star break, so manager Bryan Price decided to give him a break Tuesday. Ivan De Jesus will get the start at third base in Suarez's place.

  • Matt Reynolds 3B | CIN

Mets' Matt Reynolds: Homers in return to majors

Reynolds went 3-for-4 with a home run and two runs batted in during the Mets' Labor Day win against the Reds.

Reynolds is hitting .225 this season, but was swinging the bat well in Triple-A before returning to the majors. With Asdrubal Cabrera fighting a nagging injury and Neil Walker out for the season, Reynolds could find more at-bats than expected in the infield over the final month of the season.

  • Matt Reynolds 3B | CIN

Mets' Matt Reynolds: Promoted to big club

Reynolds was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas and is in the starting lineup at shortstop Monday, ESPN.com's Adam Rubin reports.

The 51s' season is set to end Monday, but the Mets will bring Reynolds aboard a day early to provide a little extra depth with Neil Walker (back) out for the season. The Mets figure to roll out a starting infield of James Loney, Wilmer Flores, Jose Reyes and Asdrubal Cabrera most nights, so unless one or two of those players succumb to injuries, Reynolds won't be in line for regular starts. However, due to the quick turnaround from the Sunday night game against Washington at Citi Field to a Monday matinee in Cincy, Cabrera is getting the day off, letting Reynolds start at short.
