Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Delivers RBI triple Tuesday

Rendon went 2-for-4 with an RBI triple Tuesday against the Mets.

Rendon's second-inning triple off starter Matt Harvey got the scoring started in what ended up being a one-sided 5-0 affair. He's having a very productive series with four hits and four RBI through two games, and gets another crack at the Mets on Wednesday.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Rockies' DJ LeMahieu: Remains out Tuesday

LeMahieu (knee) remains out of the lineup Tuesday against the Blue Jays.

This makes it two straight absences for LeMahieu after he suffered a left knee contusion in Sunday's game. Cristian Adames will start at second base Tuesday. According to Thomas Harding of MLB.com, LeMahieu reported improvement with the knee Tuesday and thinks he will be able to play in Wednesday's series finale.

Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Delivers superb all-around performance against Mets

Rendon went 2-for-4 with two runs, three RBI and a steal in a superb all-around performance Monday against the Mets.

Rendon was far from the only Washington player to find success in this one, with four other Nationals registering multi-hit games as well. The third baseman also swiped his second bag of the month, and is a threat to top 15 in both home runs and steals for the second time in his career, with seven and eight, respectively, at the moment.

  • Carlos Asuaje 3B | LAD

Padres' Carlos Asuaje: Big day in Triple-A Doubleheader

Asuaje notched three hits in a doubleheader Sunday for Triple-A El Paso. He also stole a base and scored three runs.

Asuaje has been hitting quite well in Triple-A this season, slashing .325/.389/.470 in the notoriously hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League. Asuaje doesn't figure to be much help in power categories, as he has a meager four home runs in 2016 and 28 for his entire minor league career. Despite the nice season, it will likely take an injury or a trade for Asuaje to be called up to the majors in 2016.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Rockies' DJ LeMahieu: Out of Monday's lineup

LeMahieu (knee) is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Blue Jays, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.

LeMahieu suffered a left knee contusion that forced him to leave Sunday's game early. The Rockies will look to Daniel Descalso to start in his place while he works on recovering as quickly as possible. LeMahieu will remain day-to-day for now.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

Diamondbacks' Jean Segura: Collects three hits Sunday

Segura went 3-for-4 in Sunday's loss to the Rockies and scored three runs.

Like a lot of players, Segura enjoyed his trip to Coors Field. Over four games, he went 7-for-16 with eight runs, three RBI and three steals. After a brief slump earlier this month, Segura is closing out June nicely and has the average up to .311.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Rockies' DJ LeMahieu: Exits Sunday's game with knee contusion

LeMahieu was removed from Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks due to a left knee contusion, MLB.com reports.

LeMahieu suffered the injury while trying to field a groundball in the sixth inning, and after a visit from team trainers, Daniel Descalsco replaced him at second base. The Rockies will likely turn to either Descalsco or Christian Adames if LeMahieu is unavailable for Monday's game against Toronto.

  • Jace Peterson SS | ARI

Braves' Jace Peterson: Settles into leadoff role

Peterson will start at second base and serve as the Braves' leadoff hitter for the sixth straight game Sunday against the Mets.

After getting demoted to Triple-A Gwinnett following a poor start to his season, Peterson returned to the big leagues earlier this month and has been able to reclaim his regular starting role. He's also helped his cause to remain atop the lineup by recording one hit in each of his last six games, but he's had a multi-hit effort in only one of those contests. Still, with Mallex Smith (hand) on the DL, Peterson should give the Braves an element of contact-hitting and speed in the leadoff spot, though don't look for him to produce many helpful counting stats.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Rockies' DJ LeMahieu: Smacks three-run homer Saturday

LeMahieu went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer, walk and two runs in Saturday's 11-6 victory over the D-backs.

LeMahieu sent a 424-foot shot to center with Mark Reynolds and Charlie Blackmon aboard to put the finishing touches on a memorable day for the Colorado offense. The second baseman has been on a tear, tallying three straight multi-hit efforts, as well as five in his last six games. As good as his month of May was, LeMahieu's been even better in June, with a slash line of .349/.424/.570 over 86 at-bats.

  • Cody Asche 3B | NYM

Phillies' Cody Asche: Sitting Saturday against Giants

Asche is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Giants, Matt Gelb of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Although the numbers aren't great by any stretch, Asche has been able to maintain a regular role since joining the big club in early June by slashing .265/.306/.456 with two homers and three steals. He will sit Saturday with lefty Madison Bumgarner starting for San Francisco, and his exposure to lefties will likely remain limited. Asche may also lose out on occasional starts against right-handers to the likes of Tyler Goeddel and Jimmy Paredes.
