Giants' Jason Vosler: Added to Saturday's lineup

Vosler was added to the lineup for Saturday's game against the White Sox, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

The 28-year-old will join Saturday's lineup on short notice after Thairo Estrada (illness) was a late scratch. Vosler went 0-for-4 with a strikeout during Friday's loss to the White Sox.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Set to begin rehab assignment

Urias (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Bowie on Saturday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Urias was not initially expected to require a rehab assignment, but he'll get at least one game with Bowie before he's activated from the 10-day injured list. Once the 28-year-old is cleared to return, he'll likely resume a significant role at third base, with Jonathan Arauz and Tyler Nevin likely to see reduced playing time.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Yankees' Josh Donaldson: Not starting Game 1

Donaldson isn't in the lineup for the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Guardians.

Donaldson started in the last seven games and hit .167 with four doubles, two RBI, a run, three walks and eight strikeouts. DJ LeMahieu is shifting to the hot corner while Matt Carpenter starts at first base.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Slugs 19th homer

Riley went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored, three RBI and a walk in Friday's 9-1 win over the Reds.

The third baseman got Atlanta on the board with a two-run blast off Mike Minor in the first inning, giving Max Fried and the Atlanta bullpen all the run support they would need on the night. Riley snapped a 12-game homer drought with the performance, but on the season he's still batting .260 with 19 long balls and 46 RBI through 76 contests.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Hits for cycle in loss

Arenado went 4-for-4 with a double, a triple, a home run, one run scored and three RBI in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Phillies.

The third baseman provided all the offense for the Cardinals as he recorded the second cycle of his career and the 20th in Cardinals' history, although he needed a little help from the official scorer as his single came on a play that could easily have been ruled an error on Matt Vierling. Arenado has six multi-hit performances in the last 10 games, a hot streak that has boosted his slash line on the season to .288/.349/.523 with 15 homers, 36 runs and 52 RBI through 75 contests.

  • Brian Anderson RF | ATL

Marlins' Brian Anderson: Swats third homer

Anderson went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Friday's 6-3 win over the Nationals.

In his fourth game back from the injured list, Anderson took Josiah Gray deep in the third inning for a solo shot to get the Marlins on the board, before adding an insurance run in the sixth on a single. Anderson hadn't homered since May 14 and has only three long balls on the year in 36 games, but his .276/.378/.431 slash line is actually slightly above his career line.

  • Diamondbacks' Buddy Kennedy: Continues at 2B

Kennedy made a fifth consecutive start at second base Friday and went 0-for-4 in a 9-3 win over the Rockies.

Kennedy is the beneficiary of the Diamondbacks keeping Ketel Marte at designated hitter as the club's usual starter at second base works his way back from a hamstring strain. With Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reporting that Marte will remain DH through the current series against Colorado, Kennedy is in line for at least two more starts at second base. He's batting .152 over 11 games since having his contract selected.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Goes deep Friday

Muncy went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 5-1 win over the Padres.

Muncy opened the scoring with a second-inning solo shot off Padres starter Blake Snell. This was Muncy's third homer in his last nine games, a span in which he's gone 7-for-30 (.233). The infielder's picked up his pace only slightly, as he's still slashing a meager .168/.325/.312 with seven homers, 22 RBI, 29 runs scored, six doubles and a triple through 249 plate appearances.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Slugs homer in loss

McMahon went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 9-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.

McMahon had gone just 1-for-18 over his last six games entering Friday, but the infielder went yard in the seventh inning for his seventh homer of the season. He's slashing .235/.328/.379 with 38 RBI, 30 runs scored, 13 doubles and two triples through 75 contests, and he's been caught stealing on his only two attempts this year.

  • Jason Vosler 3B | SEA

Giants' Jason Vosler: Recalled and starting Friday

Vosler was recalled by the Giants on Friday and will bat seventh and play third base against the White Sox, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

How long Vosler will remain in the majors is unclear, as he was called up to replace starting pitcher Anthony DeSclafani (ankle), so it's possible he returns to the minors when the Giants need another starter. Vosler has produced when called upon this season, however, hitting .294/.362/.569 in 17 games. He'll have a good case to stick around if he keeps hitting like that.
