  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

    Giants' Evan Longoria: Resting Friday

Longoria will sit Friday against the White Sox, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Longoria sits after starting nine straight games, a stretch in which he hit .400/.486/.733 with three homers and more walks (six) than strikeouts (five). Jason Vosler will spell him at third base.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Not starting Friday

Machado will sit Friday against the Dodgers, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Machado missed nine straight games with an ankle issue before returning to action Thursday, going 1-for-4 with a double and three strikeouts. The Padres seemingly don't want him starting on back-to-back days immediately after his return, so it will be Ha-Seong Kim who starts at third base Friday.

  • Abraham Toro 1B | BOS

Mariners' Abraham Toro: Drives in two Thursday

Toro went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a run in a win over the Athletics on Thursday.

Toro drove in the first run of the game with a sacrifice fly in foul territory in the first inning. His fifth-inning single then plated Jesse Winker to snap a 4-4 tie and give the Mariners a lead they wouldn't relinquish. Toro has now reached safely in six straight games, an encouraging span during which he's produced a .333 batting average and .961 OPS across 20 plate appearances.

  • Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW

    Reds' Mike Moustakas: Sitting Friday

Moustakas is not in the starting lineup for Friday's series opener versus Atlanta.

Moustakas will get a day off after he went 1-for-4 with an RBI in his return to the lineup Thursday following undisclosed injury. Brandon Drury will slide into the designated hitter spot while Donovan Solano will start at third base and bat sixth against Atlanta.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Fans three times in return

Machado went 1-for-4 with a double, a run and three strikeouts in Thursday's loss to the Dodgers.

Machado has been nursing an injured ankle, but he returned from a nine-game absence Thursday to serve as San Diego's designated hitter against his former club. The veteran looked like he didn't miss a beat in his first at-bat, smacking a double to left field and coming around to score on a Nomar Mazara single. Things went downhill from there for Machado, however, as he struck out in each of his remaining three plate appearances. It's unclear how long he'll stick at DH before the Padres decide it's safe to put him back in the field, but Machado should be deployed in all fantasy formats as long as his bat is in the lineup.

  • Matt Chapman 3B | SF

Blue Jays' Matt Chapman: Sits Friday afternoon

Chapman is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Tampa Bay.

An 0-for-3 showing in Thursday's series opener has Chapman hitting .231 with a pair of home runs and eight RBI in his last 10 games. Santiago Espinal starts at third base while Cavan Biggio plays second.

  • Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU

Rays' Isaac Paredes: Slugs 11th homer

Paredes went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Thursday against the Jays.

Paredes took Yusei Kikuchi yard in the fourth inning to tally his 11th homer of the season, with six of them coming in his last seven starts. He's taken over the primary starting role at first base and has likely done enough to maintain everyday at-bats even once the likes of Brandon Lowe (back) return from the injured list.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Drives in two

Bregman went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI on Thursday against the Yankees.

Bregman provided all of Houston's offense with a two-RBI double in the third inning. He has at least one hit in 11 of his last 12 starts, good for a .390 batting average, and has also posted 10 RBI and nine runs scored in that span. Bregman has also raised his batting average to .242 on the season -- its highest mark since May 14.

  • Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA

Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Drives in six runs Thursday

Wisdom went 3-for-6 with a pair of home runs, six RBI and a stolen base in Thursday's 15-7 rout of the Reds.

Wisdom had a good start to the contest, notching an RBI and a stolen base in the first inning. Things got much better for the big third baseman, as he swatted a grand slam in the second frame and a solo homer in the sixth en route to a career-high six RBI. Wisdom entered the contest with just three homers and 11 RBI through 25 games in June, so his big game padded those stats considerably on the final day of the month. He leads Chicago with 16 homers and 43 RBI on the season.

  • Jose Miranda 3B | MIN

Twins' Jose Miranda: Drives in three

Miranda went 1-for-4 with a double and three RBI on Thursday against the Guardians.

Miranda accounted for all of the Twins' offensive production with a bases-loaded double in the third inning. He's had an inconsistent role in the lineup since Alex Kirilloff returned, though Miranda has started three consecutive games during which he's tallied four hits with four RBI and a run scored. Overall, Miranda is hitting .240/.275/.418 across 153 plate appearances on the season.
