  • Jace Peterson SS | ARI

Brewers' Jace Peterson: Clutch performance in win

Peterson went 2-for-3 with one triple, three RBI, one run scored and one steal in Thursday's victory over San Diego.

Peterson walked in his first at-bat and proceed to swipe second, registering his seventh steal of the season. He reached base again in his second plate appearance with a single, but his game-tying, three RBI triple in the bottom of the ninth was the biggest swing of the night for either team. Peterson eventually scored the game-winning run on an Andrew McCutchen single. Over his last six games, Peterson has eight hits in 16 plate appearances, including two doubles, two triples and eight RBI.

  • Nick Madrigal 3B | LAA

Cubs' Nick Madrigal: Gets breather Friday

Madrigal is not starting in Friday's game versus the Cardinals.

Madrigal will get a day off after starting three straight games following his return from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, going 3-for-9 with two runs over those contests. Christopher Morel will get the start at second base while Rafael Ortega enters the lineup in center field and bats second Friday.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Tallies fifth RBI in return

Moncada went 1-for-4 with an RBI on Thursday against the Blue Jays.

Moncada missed five consecutive games with a quadriceps injury, but he returned Thursday to play third base and hit third. He tallied a run-scoring single in the eighth inning to record his fifth RBI of the campaign. Moncada has had a fitful start to the season after being sidelined by an oblique injury as well as a few issues in his lower body, and he's hitting just .138/.176/.246 across 68 plate appearances as a result.

  • Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL

Reds' Kyle Farmer: Homers, swipes bag in win

Farmer went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and a stolen base in an 8-1 win Thursday over Washington.

After being retired in his first two plate appearances, Farmer hit safely in his final two at-bats. He capped off the scoring of a five-run seventh inning with a three-run homer off Josh Rogers. The 31-year-old has been on a tear lately, hitting .452/.489/.810 over his last 12 contests.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Giants' Evan Longoria: Pinch hits in return

Longoria went 0-for-1 in a 3-0 loss Thursday in Miami.

Longoria pinch hit for designated hitter Tommy La Stella in the eighth inning, facing lefty Steven Okert. After being removed from Tuesday's game and sitting out Wednesday due to a shoulder injury, the veteran flew out in his lone plate appearance Thursday. It's unclear when he will return to the field, but it's possible he will be able to contribute with the bat as the designated or pinch hitter in the near term.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Rehab assignment imminent

Muncy (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City at some point over the weekend, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Muncy was originally slated to begin the rehab assignment Thursday, but his return to game action has shifted back a couple of days. There is no indication that he suffered any type of setback, so he remains on track for an early June return.

  • J.D. Davis 1B | LAA

Mets' J.D. Davis: Rare start versus righty

Davis will bat eighth as the designated hitter Thursday against the Dodgers, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

The Mets were forced to shuffle their lineup after Francisco Lindor suffered a finger injury. Davis is a beneficiary and will draw only his eighth start of the season with a righty on the mound. He has maintained a .247/.343/.353 line across 99 plate appearances on the campaign.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Rehab assignment on tap

Muncy (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Muncy took part in batting practice Wednesday, and he'll be cleared to return to game action at the minor-league level over the weekend. It's not yet clear how many rehab games he'll require, but he'll likely be in the mix to rejoin the Dodgers next week.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Giants' Evan Longoria: Sitting again Thursday

Longoria (shoulder) is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Phillies, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

The veteran third baseman was lifted from Tuesday's contest with right shoulder soreness and will sit out Thursday for the second straight game. Longoria struck out as a pinch hitter Wednesday, so he could again be available off the bench. Jason Vosler will start at the hot corner and bat eighth.

  • Abraham Toro 1B | BOS

Mariners' Abraham Toro: Singles in return from IL

Toro (shoulder), who was reinstated from the injured list earlier in the day, entered Wednesday's loss to the Orioles as the designated hitter in the sixth inning and went 1-for-2.

The 25-year-old was an in-game replacement for Mike Ford in his first game off the IL. Toro's single extended the hitting streak he'd started back on May 17 to six games, but he still carries an ugly .184/.241/.368 slash line across 137 plate appearances.
