Davis (hand) will need a rehab assignment before being activated from the injured list, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Davis is eligible to be activated from the injured list. However, that activation likely won't come during the team's weekend series against the Rays, as he will need at least a few swings on a rehab assignment before returning.

Urshela (knee) went 1-for-1 with a go-ahead three-run homer in Friday's 5-4 win over the Orioles.

Urshela was held out of Friday's starting lineup due to a sore knee but still made a big impact as a pinch hitter with a three-run blast to give the Yankees a 5-4 lead in the seventh. It was the 29-year-old's fifth home run of the year and brought his RBI total up to 19. He's hit safely in 13 of his last 14 games and is slashing .298/.347/.482 on the season altogether.

Arenado went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and double in Friday's 5-4 loss to San Diego.

Arenado's ninth-inning home run brought St. Louis to within one run while the former Rocky also recorded two hits earlier in the game. This was Arenado's second straight game with three hits and he's 8-for-22 over the last five games.

Machado went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI, a run and two walks in a 5-4 win over St. Louis on Friday.

Machado accounted for half of San Diego's four hits with an RBI double in the first and single in the sixth and was easily the Padres' top hitter on the night. Despite the quality night at the dish, Machado still sports a lackluster .741 OPS.

Muncy went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and two strikeouts Friday in a 9-6 win over Miami.

Muncy's second-inning blast capped an eight-run frame for the Dodgers. He has raised his OPS from .787 to .935 with a torrid May.

Moustakas left Friday's game against the Rockies with a heel contusion, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. "I don't know if he got stepped on or he jammed it into the base," manager David Bell said. "He did have it examined after the game, but everything was negative."

Moustakas appeared to be walking gingerly around first base early on in the game and was ultimately lifted before the bottom of the fifth inning. Fortunately, it does not sound like a serious injury. That being said, Moustakas just had a different injury scare Thursday with his shoulder, so it would not be a surprise if the Reds played it safe and held him out Saturday even if he's feeling better.

Walding was signed to a minor-league contract by the Angels on Thursday.

Walding last played in the majors in 2019, when he struck out in both of his plate appearances with Philadelphia. He has some pop in his bat but has had contact issues throughout his professional career. Walding will try to make a positive impression on the organization as a member of the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees.

Donaldson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 6-1 loss to Oakland.

Already trailing 5-0 in the sixth, Donaldson put Minnesota on the board with his solo shot off Frankie Montas. The veteran slugger is slashing .279/.364/.488 with 10 extra-base hits through 99 plate appearances.

Davis (hand) is feeling better and could return to action this weekend, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Davis has already spent the minimum 10 days on the injured list with a sprained left hand, but reports from earlier this week were somewhat pessimistic. He's evidently made good progress in recent days, however, so his absence isn't expected to last much longer.

Castillo's contract was selected by the Padres on Friday.

With Drew Pomeranz (shoulder) hitting the injured list, Castillo will join the major-league roster for the first time to provide some depth around the Padres' infield, at least until a fresh bullpen arm is needed. The 25-year-old got off to a 12-for-27 start with Triple-A El Paso to begin the 2021 season, although none of those base knocks left the yard.
