  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Returns to lineup

Muncy (wrist) is starting Saturday against the Angels.

Muncy left Friday's game two innings after tweaking his wrist on a checked swing, but he'll return to the lineup just one day later. Given his quick return, he shouldn't face any limitations heading into the postseason.

  • Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL

Twins' Josh Donaldson: Not in Saturday's lineup

Donaldson (calf) will not start Saturday's game against Cincinnati.

Donaldson left Friday's game with a right calf cramp, a worrying sign for a player who has missed quite a bit of time with calf issues in recent years. He's reportedly feeling good and receiving treatment Saturday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports, but the Twins are likely far more concerned about having him healthy for the playoffs than having him available for the final two games of the regular season. Ehire Adrianza will be the third baseman Saturday.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Won't play until playoffs

Riley aggravated his right quad during Friday's game and won't play again until the first game of the postseason, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

With Atlanta likely claiming the No. 2 seed in the playoffs, manager Brian Snitker said Saturday that the team will be cautious with Riley and hold him out for the final two games of the regular season. However, Snitker said that the injury isn't serious, and Riley is walking around fine while also hitting in the cage. Adeiny Hechavarria is starting at third base Saturday and should do so again Sunday.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Returns to bench

Riley isn't in Saturday's lineup against the Red Sox.

Riley returned to the lineup Friday after sitting out Thursday's contest with quadriceps tightness. He'll retreat to the bench Saturday with Adeiny Hechavarria starting at the hot corner.

  • Nick Senzel 3B | LAD

Reds' Nick Senzel: Retreats to bench

Senzel isn't starting Saturday against the Twins.

Senzel started two of the past three games, but he'll get a day off after the Reds clinched a playoff berth Friday. Brian Goodwin will start in center field Saturday.

  • Brian Anderson RF | ATL

Marlins' Brian Anderson: Not starting Saturday

Anderson isn't starting Saturday's game against the Yankees.

Anderson went 0-for-4 with one run and one walk in Friday's win as Miami clinched a spot in the postseason. Jon Berti will shift to third base Saturday with Jazz Chisholm starting at second.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Enters as pinch hitter

Devers entered Friday's game as a pinch hitter, played third base and went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored in an 8-7 loss to the Braves.

Devers also committed his 14th error of the season, giving him an .887 fielding percentage. He's recovered from a slow start produce a strong overall offensive season, but Devers has regressed in the field. Red Sox manager Ron Roenicke told Ian Browne of MLB.com that Devers has the tools in the field but has mental lapses. Bobby Dalbec started Friday's game at third base and is considered above-average defensively at the hot corner, better than Devers.

  • Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW

Reds' Mike Moustakas: Two-homer game in playoff clincher

Moustakas went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Friday's 7-2 win over the Twins.

Moustakas was brought in to be a leader on this team, and while he's had an uneven couple of months around a stint on the IL with a quad injury, he came up huge Friday to lift the Reds to their first playoff berth since 2013. He's getting hot at the right time -- Moustakas is now 9-for-23 with five doubles and three homers in his last six games.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Removed with apparent wrist injury

Muncy left Friday's game against the Angels with an apparent wrist injury, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Muncy appeared to tweak his right wrist on a check swing in the fifth inning Friday, and he was replaced defensively to begin the seventh inning. It's unclear how Muncy's availability will be impacted as a result of the injury.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Mashes sixth homer

Bregman went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a sacrifice fly in Friday's 5-4 extra-inning loss to the Rangers.

Bregman tied the game at 2-2 in the sixth inning with his sixth homer of the season. He put the Astros ahead in the 10th with a sacrifice fly to plate initial runner Jose Altuve, but the Rangers battled back to win in the bottom of the 10th. Bregman is now slashing .253/.357/.473 with 22 RBI and 19 runs scored in 40 contests. His .830 OPS would be his lowest mark since 2017.
