Astudillo is getting "very close" to being an option to be called up to the majors, manager Rocco Baldelli told Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic.

Astudillo tested positive for COVID-19 before summer camp began and wasn't cleared until July 26. He was behind in his training as a result and has been working his way back at Minnesota's alternate training site in St. Paul. The Twins currently have just three non-pitchers on the bench, so he could be needed as a third catcher and backup corner infielder soon.

Donaldson (calf) has done some running but not sprinting, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. "It's not something that's ramping up very quickly at the moment," manager Rocco Baldelli said.

While it doesn't sound like Donaldson has had a setback, he doesn't appear to be making much progress. He suffered the calf injury on July 31 and at first the injury was thought to be minor. He then was later placed on the 10-day IL retroactive to Aug. 4. It doesn't sound like he'll return from the injured list when eligible and could be out much longer.

Arenado went 4-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Monday's 12-8 loss to Arizona.

Arenado was perfect at the dish, collecting four hits and an RBI sacrifice fly in his five plate appearances. The 29-year-old third baseman has struggled so far this season and Monday's performance was just his second multi-hit game of 2020. He's batting just .241 with four extra-base hits.

Manager Ron Roenicke said after Monday's game it's doubtful Devers (ankle) will start Tuesday, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

After tweaking his ankle Sunday, Devers was held out of the starting nine Monday and did not end up appearing off the bench. Jonathan Arauz drew the start at third base in his absence. Devers will meet with the medical staff Tuesday and should be considered day-to-day until the results of his evaluation are announced.

Riley went 2-for-4 with a single and a two-run home run in Monday's 13-8 loss to the Phillies.

This was Riley's first multi-hit game of the season. Putting bat to ball with consistency has been a problem for Riley, who entered the night with a 37.2 K%, but Johan Camargo is in a similar funk and does not appear to be an immediate threat to usurp Riley as the primary third baseman.

Candelario went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, a run scored and an RBI in Monday's 5-1 win over the White Sox.

Candelario has turned things around after starting the season by going 0-for-17 across his first five games. In six games since then, the Detroit third baseman has gone 10-for-22 with a home run, four runs scored and five RBI.

Longoria is not in the lineup Monday against Houston, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The Giants have rotated heavily at several spots this season, though Longoria has generally been immune to those changes, as he'll sit Monday for just the second time since returning from an oblique injury back on July 30. Donovan Solano will get the start at the hot corner.

McMahon will not start Monday against the Diamondbacks, Jenny Cavnar of AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain reports.

McMahon sits against lefty Robbie Ray, though it doesn't appear as though he's heading for a platoon role, as he started against each of the first six southpaws the Rockies have faced this season. Chris Owings will start at second base in his absence.

Devers isn't starting Monday's game due to minor ankle soreness, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports.

Manager Ron Roenicke revealed that Devers tweaked his ankle in Sunday's contest, so he'll be held out of the starting nine as a precaution. However, Roenicke didn't rule out the possibility of Devers serving as a pinch hitter in Monday's series opener against the Rays.

Devers isn't in the lineup for Monday's game against the Rays.

Devers went 1-for-12 with a solo home run and five strikeouts during the team's three-game series against the Blue Jays, and he'll get a breather Monday. Jonathan Arauz is starting at third base and batting ninth.
