Arenado (shoulder) is starting at designated hitter and batting fourth Tuesday against the Astros, Christian Boutwell of MLB.com reports.

As expected, Arenado is back in the starting lineup for Tuesday's series opener after missing a pair of games with a shoulder issue. With a DH spot available in the Astros' American League ballpark, manager Bud Black will ease his star third baseman back into action. Arenado, who is hitting .306/.390/.584 with 29 homers and 82 RBI in 112 games this season, will face Justin Verlander in his first game back.

Moncada is on the bench for Tuesday's game against the Tigers.

The last time Moncada was out of the lineup was exactly two months ago on June 14. Yolmer Sanchez will slide over to second base, with Matt Davidson starting at third.

Segura went 4-for-5 with an RBI in the Mariners' 7-6 loss to the Athletics on Monday.

Segura has rattled off multi-hit performances in three of his last five starts, lifting his season average back up to .312. The shortstop suffered an injury scare over the weekend when he was hit in the hand by a pitch Friday, but his return to the lineup the next day quelled any concerns about the shortstop's health. He ranks fifth among all qualified hitters in batting average this season while supplementing it with 17 steals, nine home runs, 56 RBI and 78 runs in 112 games.

Chapman went 3-for-5 with three doubles, three runs and two RBI in the Athletics' 7-6 win over the Mariners on Monday.

The three extra-base hits tied a season high for Chapman, who has been on fire since the All-Star break with an 1.190 OPS, 23 runs and 14 RBI in 22 games. Chapman's offensive surge coupled with his aptitude on defense -- he trails only the Angels' Andrelton Simmons this season with a 12.5 UZR -- could garner the 25-year-old some down-ballot MVP votes in a deep American League class of candidates.

Ramirez went 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBI, a walk and two runs scored Monday against Cincinnati.

Ramirez plated a pair in the third inning after launching his 35th homer of the season. He also tacked on an insurance run in the seventh with an RBI single to left field. The 25-year-old third baseman continues to impress in 2018, as he's batting .301 with 87 RBI and 27 stolen bases through 116 contests.

Candelario went 1-for-2 with an RBI, two walks and two runs scored in Monday's 9-5 win over Chicago.

Candelario extended the lead in the third by hitting a sacrifice fly to center field, and he'd score in the seventh and eighth innings. The 24-year-old third baseman owns a .228/.318/.412 batting line with 15 home runs and 45 RBI through 103 games during his first full season in the major leagues.

Asuaje was optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Monday, Bill Center of MLB.com reports.

Asuaje was sent back to the minors to clear a roster spot for Wil Myers, who was activated from the disabled list in a corresponding move. The 26-year-old hit just .095/.204/.167 across 18 games since the All-Star break, bringing his season slash line down to an unsightly .199/.290/.285.

Rendon (wrist) is back in the lineup Monday against the Cardinals.

Rendon was hit on the wrist by a pitch Friday against the Cubs and did not start either of the next two games, though he did appear as a defensive replacement Sunday. He's now ready to hit again and will play third base and bat cleanup against the Cardinals.

Donaldson (calf) is 'ramping up intensity' in his rehab over the next several days, after which he will begin baserunning and preparation for game play, MLB.com's Gregor Chisholm reports.

Jays manager John Gibbons said that once Donaldson is cleared to resume running at full intensity, he wouldn't require a lengthy rehab assignment. While that sounds as if the Jays are optimistic, it's still not exactly a clear timetable and sounds as if they are putting their best face on the situation. This jibes with their potential desire to trade him before the end of the month. There's still good reason to remain skeptical.

Maggi was placed on the minor-league disabled list Monday with a right hamstring strain.

The move is retroactive to Saturday, so Maggi will be eligible to return Aug. 18 should he prove ready. The 29-year-old is hitting .269/.333/.353 across 54 games with Triple-A Columbus this season.
