Machado's suspension appeal will be heard Tuesday, Eduardo Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.

With the appeal reportedly set for Tuesday, Machado will to be eligible to play through Baltimore's weekend series against Toronto. However, once his appeal has been heard, Machado may have to sit out for anywhere up to four games depending on the ruling. Shortstop J.J Hardy is currently on a rehab assignment and could return as soon as Friday, which would lessen the impact of Machado's absence. Still, Baltimore would likely have to lean on Pedro Alvarez or Ryan Flaherty at third base if Machado is to miss time.

Alvarez is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Red Sox, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

Alvarez will now get his third straight day off after being held out of the lineup Tuesday and Wednesday. There are no reports that anything is amiss, and Baltimore will start Mark Trumbo at DH for the third consecutive day with Joey Rickard slotted into right field.

Asche is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Blue Jays, Ryan Lawrence of the Philly Voice reports.

Asche has started the previous eight games for the Phillies and will be getting a day off for Thursday's outing. He earned his first multi-hit game of the season Wednesday night, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two doubles and two RBI. In his place the Phillies will start Tyler Goeddel in left field, batting seventh.

Duffy went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 10-1 win over the Brewers.

This was Duffy's second three-hit game over his past three contests. He has also reached base safely in all but two of his appearances in June. It is safe to say that his bat has finally woken up after a slow start to the season. It is also important to note that he is batting fifth in the lineup with sluggers Hunter Pence (hamstring) and Brandon Belt (ankle) sidelined. Duffy's .251 batting average should continue to rise as his .270 BABIP inches closer to his career mark, which resides in the low-to-mid 300s.

Longoria (forearm) is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mariners, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Longoria says that he's truly day-to-day. He expects to be able to be available to pinch hit Thursday and be back in the lineup on Friday. Taylor Motter will step in at third base and bat seventh.

Asche went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a homer and two RBI in Wednesday's loss to the Jays.

The 25-year-old outfielder seems to be settling in after spending the first two months of the season on the DL. Asche has played in 13 games since returning, and Wednesday marked his first multi-hit effort of the campaign. With the performance, he pushed his average to a season-high .256 while doubling his home run and RBI totals. Asche began working on ways to get quicker to the ball after he noticed that he was fouling off pitches he should be squaring up. Wednesday night's results could be an indicator that those adjustments are paying off.

Reynolds went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and a run against the Pirates on Wednesday.

With Neil Walker (back) still out, Reynolds made his first career start at second base and impressed with the bat. That's something he hasn't done in a while; Reynolds created a little buzz a couple years ago by hitting .343/.405/.454 across 126 games in Double-A and Triple-A, but he slumped to a .269 average last season and had a brutal .230 mark for Las Vegas before getting the call this year. There's not much to see here outside of deep NL-only formats.

Longoria departed Thursday's game in the 13th inning due to left forearm tightness, Bill Chastain of MLB.com reports.

Fortunately, Longoria's forearm injury isn't on his throwing hand, which could have resulted in a long absence. The Rays get back at it Thursday against the Mariners, so it will be interesting to see if he is in the lineup for the contest. If not, Steve Pearce would be the likely candidate to start at third base.

Arenado went 2-for-5 with a homer and three RBI in a 6-3 victory over the Yankees on Wednesday.

The homer was the third baseman's 20th of the season. He has four RBI and two extra-base hits in the first two games of the series versus the Yankees. After posting a .851 OPS in May, Arenado has a .966 OPS through the first half of June. He is batting .290 with 20 homers, 57 RBI and 47 runs.

Peterson is in the lineup and batting sixth for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

Peterson will get the start in place of Chase d'Arnaud at second base. The 26-year-old is hitting .267 against right-handed pitching this year and is 5-for-10 with five walks since being recalled from Triple-A on June 10.
