Mets' Mark Vientos: Sitting again Tuesday

Vientos (ankle) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Athletics, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

The 24-year-old was a late scratch from Sunday's lineup against the Mariners due to left ankle soreness, and he'll sit for a second consecutive game Tuesday. According to Laura Albanese of Newsday, Vientos is expected to be available off the bench and should rejoin the lineup Wednesday. Jose Iglesias will receive a start at third base and bat seventh.

  • Rays' Junior Caminero: Officially called up

The Rays recalled Caminero from Triple-A Durham on Tuesday, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

The Rays' top prospect will make his 2024 MLB debut, taking Curtis Mead's spot on the active roster. Caminero missed time with a strained quad but has slashed .304/.325/.532 with five homers and an 18.1 percent K rate since coming off the minor-league IL on July 19. The right-hander should settle into a near-everyday role at third base, but he could mix in at second or shortstop if needed.

Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and three runs scored in Monday's 9-8 win over the Cubs.

Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Imaging comes back negative

X-rays on Chisholm's left elbow returned negative Monday night, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

The team initially reported that Chisholm would be sent for imaging Tuesday, and while he's still scheduled to undergo an MRI in the morning, this appears to be good news for fantasy managers. It remains unclear at this time whether the third baseman will be cleared to start Tuesday's game.

Twins' Royce Lewis: Goes yard in win

Lewis went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 8-3 victory over the Royals.

Lewis later scored his 27th run of the season in the seventh inning via a Manuel Margot sacrifice fly. When playing, the 25-year-old has been a fantasy star, as he now boasts a .279/.356/.664 slash line with 15 homers and 34 RBI across 160 plate appearances in 40 games.

  • Jazz Chisholm 2B | NYY

Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Nursing elbow injury

Chisholm will undergo imaging Tuesday after suffering a left elbow injury during Monday's game against the White Sox, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Chisholm picked up the injury in the fifth inning on a slide at the plate, and he was lifted right before his turn to bat in the seventh. Oswaldo Cabrera or DJ LeMahieu could start at third base Tuesday if Chisholm can't go.

  • Rays' Junior Caminero: Set to join big-league club

The Rays plan to recall Caminero from Triple-A Durham ahead of Tuesday's game against the Astros, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Prior to Monday's promotion, he was batting .276 with 13 home runs, 34 RBI, one stolen base and 33 runs scored in 53 games for Durham. Caminero has been featured primarily at third base this season (43 games) but also has experience at second base (eight games). The 21-year-old also logged 29 games at shortstop a season ago.
