  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

    Marlins' Jean Segura: Starts running

Segura (hamstring) started a running program Thursday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Segura was placed on the injured list last week with a left hamstring strain, so it's encouraging that he is already back to running. Joey Wendle and Jon Berti have seen an uptick in playing time with Segura sidelined.

  • Curtis Mead 3B | WAS

Rays' Curtis Mead: Begins rehab assignment

Mead (wrist) will begin a rehab assignment in the Florida Complex League on Thursday, Sam Dykstra of MiLB.com reports.

One of the top hitters in the minors, Mead has not played since April 29 due to a wrist injury after getting hit by a pitch. Given the length of his absence, there may have been a broken bone in his hand/wrist. While Mead could still make his big-league debut this summer, he hadn't gotten off to a great start with Triple-A Durham prior to the injury, slashing .221/.286/.360 with two home runs in 22 games.

  • Matt Chapman 3B | SF

Blue Jays' Matt Chapman: Homers in win

Chapman went 2-for-3 with a solo homer, a double and two runs scored in Wednesday's victory over Miami.

Chapman led off the second inning with a double, which kick-started a five-run frame for Toronto as they jumped on Sandy Alcantara early. The third baseman then added a leadoff homer in the eighth, his 10th of the season, giving the Blue Jays a late insurance run. It was a nice showing for Chapman, who is still hitting just .206 in June after the two-hit performance, though he's recorded two hits and a walk in back-to-back games now.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Astros' Alex Bregman: Heating up again

Bregman went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, two RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 10-8 win over the Mets.

The third baseman has snapped out of a brief 2-for-22 slump with eight hits in the last four games. Bregman's .740 OPS on the year would be a career worst, but he's been mostly productive over the last month, slashing .301/.368/.476 over his last 26 games with four homers, two steals, 13 runs and 21 RBI.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Rips triple in three-hit effort

Ramirez went 3-for-4 with a triple and a run scored in Wednesday's 7-6 win over the Athletics.

Ramirez has eight multi-hit efforts, including four three-hit games, over his last 13 contests. In that span, he's gone 24-for-58 (.414). His streak of five games with an RBI came to an end Wednesday, but it was still a productive performance. Ramirez is slashing .293/.355/.514 with 11 home runs, 44 RBI, 43 runs scored, 20 doubles, four triples and six stolen bases over 69 contests this season.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Pops homer in loss

Urias went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 7-2 loss to the Rays.

Urias took Taj Bradley deep in the third inning to get the Orioles on the board. Over his last nine games, Urias has gone 11-for-34 with five RBI and six runs scored. The infielder has primarily played the corner infield and designated hitter lately, though he's also an option for middle-infield duty. His long ball Wednesday was his third of the season, and he's slashing .267/.333/.394 with 23 RBI, 21 runs scored, three stolen bases and 12 doubles over 51 contests.

  • Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Swats 11th homer

Henderson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 7-2 loss to the Rays.

Henderson's ninth-inning blast was little more than window dressing in the loss. He had half of the Orioles' four hits while once again batting out of the leadoff spot. The third baseman has slowed down a bit, going 4-for-24 (.167) over his last six contests. For the season, he's at a .242/.343/.464 slash line with 11 homers, 27 RBI, 37 runs scored and four stolen bases through 239 plate appearances. Henderson is likely to remain atop the order versus right-handed pitchers until Cedric Mullins (groin) returns.

  • Diamondbacks' Emmanuel Rivera: Collects trio of hits

Rivera went 3-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored in Wednesday's win over the Brewers.

After going 1-for-20 (.050) in his last five games, Rivera broke out of the cold spell with a three-hit effort. Although two of his three hits came off right handers Wednesday, Rivera has been mashing lefties this season, slashing .352/.352/.481 with 11 RBI and a home run across 54 at-bats.

  • Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU

Rays' Isaac Paredes: Smacks 13th homer

Paredes went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Wednesday against the Orioles.

Paredes launched his 13th homer of the season in the second inning off Tyler Wells. He's in the midst of a nice seven-game stretch, during which he's gone 8-for-21 with a pair of home runs, four RBI and four runs scored. Paredes has benefitted from the absence of Brandon Lowe (back), as he's started 14 consecutive games at third base.

  • Gio Urshela 3B | MIN

Angels' Gio Urshela: Out for season

Urshela doesn't need surgery on his fractured pelvis, but he will miss the remainder of the season, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Urshela took an awkward tumble while running to first base which forced him out of Thursday's game against Texas. The good news is that he won't need to undergo surgery, so he could be ready for the start of spring training next year, but the book appears to be closed for Urshela this season after he slashed .299/.329/.374 with 24 RBI over 228 plate appearances.
