  • Nick Senzel 3B | LAD

Reds' Nick Senzel: Reinstated, starting Friday

Senzel (knee) was activated from the 10-day injured list and is batting seventh while starting at third base Friday versus the Astros, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Senzel will return to the big leagues Friday after missing the minimum 10 days while nursing a sore right knee. The 27-year-old appeared in two games with Triple-A Louisville while on a rehab assignment, going 2-for-7 with two runs scored while walking once and striking out twice. Prior to getting hurt, Senzel had produced a .277 average with three doubles, nine RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base over his previous 13 games. Jose Barrero was optioned to Louisville in order to open a roster spot for Senzel.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Day off Friday

LeMahieu is not in the starting lineup Friday versus the Red Sox.

LeMahieu will take a seat after he went 2-for-8 with a solo homer, a double and two RBI while starting both games of the Subway Series with the Mets. Josh Donaldson will draw the start at the hot corner and bat fifth in the series opener in Boston.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY

Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Taking seat Friday

McMahon is absent from the lineup for Friday's game in Atlanta.

The left-handed hitting McMahon is being given a day off with Atlanta sending southpaw Jared Shuster to the mound. Nolan Jones -- who also swings lefty -- will receive his first start major-league start at third base.

  • Jean Segura 3B | CLE

    Marlins' Jean Segura: Sitting Friday

Segura is not in the starting lineup Friday versus the Nationals, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Segura will take a seat after he went 1-for-10 with a run scored, a walk and a strikeout while starting all three games of the team's series with Seattle. Jon Berti will take over at the hot corner and bat seventh in the opener with Washington.

  • Nationals' Jeimer Candelario: Swipes rare bag

Candelario went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Thursday's extra-inning win over the Astros.

The steal was the second of the season for Candelario, who has only nine pilfers in his career through 670 big-league games. The third baseman has gone cold at the plate in June, batting .135 (5-for-37) with two doubles, a homer, five runs and five RBI in 11 contests.

  • Jake Burger 3B | TEX

White Sox's Jake Burger: Records one homer, four Ks

Burger went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and four strikeouts Thursday in a loss to the Dodgers in extra innings.

It was an all-or-nothing performance for Burger at the dish, as he went yard in the fourth inning but failed to make contact in any of his remaining plate appearances. That's been an issue for the infielder of late, as he's fanned at least once in each of his past 10 games and has posted a 46.3 percent strikeout rate over that span. On the other side of the all-or-nothing coin, Burger has swatted five homers and driven in 11 runs over that 10-game stretch.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Goes deep in second straight game

Machado went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run against the Guardians in a loss Thursday.

After Cleveland posted five first-inning runs, Machado got San Diego right back in the game with his three-run blast off rookie Logan Allen in the bottom of the frame. It was Machado's second home run in as many days after he went deep just six times over his first 50 games this season. The star third baseman has begun to heat up after a slow start to the campaign, slashing .385/.400/.667 with three homers, six RBI and nine runs over his past nine games.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Enjoys productive offensive game

Ramirez went 3-for-4 with a double, a run, two RBI and a stolen base in an 8-6 win against the Padres on Thursday.

Ramirez twice came up with a run-scoring hit, notching an RBI double in the second inning and plating another run on an infield single in the fourth. The star third baseman finished with his sixth three-hit game of the campaign, three of which have come over his past six contests. During his current eight-game hitting streak, Ramirez is slashing .457/.513/.886 with four homers, 10 RBI, nine runs and one theft.

  • Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA

Angels' Anthony Rendon: Wrist being evaluated

Rendon is getting imaging done on his wrist after being hit by a pitch in the first inning of Thursday's game against the Rangers, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Rendon was unable to swing the bat after being hit by the pitch, though he was forced to remain in the game due to the Angels' having a shorthanded infield. The extent of the injury should become clearer after the results of the imaging are returned, and the Angels may be forced to dig significantly into their minor-league depth with Gio Urshela (hip) and Zach Neto (oblique) also sidelined.

  • Gio Urshela 3B | MIN

Angels' Gio Urshela: Could be headed for IL

Urshela (hip) was seen on crutches after Thursday's game against the Rangers, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Urshela is dealing with a hip injury after awkwardly stumbling over first base while trying to beat out a double play in the first inning. There hasn't been any official move yet, by manager Phil Nevin suggested that Urshela could end up on the injured list in the coming days.
