McKinstry went 1-for-3 with a walk, a double and a run scored in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Yankees.

McKinstry now has hits in three straight games and seven of his last eight appearances. The utility man is still only batting .243 overall, though that's a significant improvement from the .199 mark he posted with the Cubs and Dodgers last season. McKinstry's versatility makes him useful for the Tigers, but he's typically not the most exciting fantasy option.

Peterson is absent from the lineup Tuesday versus the Dodgers.

Evan Longoria will start at third base and bat sixth with left-hander Clayton Kershaw taking the bump for Los Angeles. Peterson has slashed just .188/.291/.271 in 22 games with Arizona and owns a career .544 OPS against southpaws.

Madrigal is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Brewers.

Jeimer Candelario will start at third base and bat seventh. Madrigal went 0-for-3 in the Cubs' loss to Milwaukee on Monday and is slashing just .233/.233/.372 over his last 45 plate appearances dating back to Aug. 6.

Rafaela is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Browne says that the original plan was for Rafaela to start in center field in his major-league debut Tuesday while Adam Duvall received a night off. However, after Duvall homered again Monday -- his sixth homer in eight games -- manager Alex Cora changed his mind. Rafaela might only be around until Wilyer Abreu (paternity) returns.

The Yankees released Donaldson (calf) on Tuesday.

Donaldson had been ramping up his rehab from a right calf strain but wasn't eligible for activation until mid-September. If he does make it back to play this season, it will be with another organization. Donaldson's two-year tenure in New York didn't go well, as he will finish it having slashed .207/.293/.385 with 25 home runs over 165 games. He's making $21.75 million in 2023 and the Yankees will be responsible for an $8 million buyout of his 2024 club option.

Henderson went 2-for-4 with a walk, two stolen bases and two runs scored in Monday's 9-0 win over the White Sox.

Henderson has hit safely in 12 of his last 13 games, batting .364 (20-for-55) with eight extra-base hits and three steals in that span. He's up to nine thefts on the season -- while he's had an impactful bat and provided solid defense, he's still not a huge threat to run. The infielder is slashing .251/.329/.479 with 22 home runs, 65 RBI and 75 runs scored over 120 contests.

Suarez went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a walk and a run in a win over the Athletics on Monday.

Suarez didn't have a hand in driving in any of the Mariners' runs for a change, but the slugger still contributed to Seattle's 14-hit breakout with his pair of extra-base hits. Suarez has served up a trio of multi-hit efforts in the last seven contests, a stretch where he's gone without a home run but still has a .375 average, 1.073 OPS, four total doubles, seven walks, four runs and an encouragingly low 15.6 percent strikeout rate.

McMahon went 2-for-2 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and a walk in Monday's loss to Atlanta.

Despite the final score of 14-4, Colorado kept pace with Atlanta for much of the contest thanks largely to McMahon's bat. He kicked off the scoring with a mammoth 473-foot blast in the first inning and tied the score 4-4 with a sacrifice fly in the fifth. McMahon has reached base safely in 10 of his past 11 contests, slashing .310/.388/.548 with three homers, seven RBI and 12 runs over that span.

Riley went 2-for-5 with a home run, a walk, two total runs and three total RBI in a 14-4 victory versus Colorado on Monday.

Riley opened the scoring for Atlanta with his two-run shot to right field in the third inning, and he tacked on an RBI single in the seventh. The long ball was his second over his past three contests following a nine-game stretch during which he went just 6-for-33 without any homers. While Riley has been overshadowed by the MVP-level seasons of teammates Ronald Acuna and Matt Olson, he's performed very well in his own right, reaching the 30-homer mark for the third straight campaign while tallying 81 RBI, three steals and a .274/.336/.504 slash line over 578 plate appearances.

Hayes went 4-for-4 with a double, a walk, a run and an RBI in Monday's 5-0 win against the Royals.

Hayes reached safely in each of his five plate appearances, finishing with his fourth career game of at least four hits. The third baseman's lone extra-base knock was a double that plated a run in the third frame. Hayes has been swinging a hot stick for about three weeks, racking up 11 multi-hit games in 19 contests since Aug. 8. He's batting .372 (29-for-78) with five homers, six doubles, one triple, 17 RBI and 12 runs over that span.
