  • Brian Anderson RF | ATL

Brewers' Brian Anderson: Settling back in at hot corner

Anderson will start at third base and bat seventh in Monday's game against the Mets.

Anderson picked up his first two starts of the season in right field, but he'll man third base for the second time in as many days following Luis Urias' (hamstring) recent move to the injured list. While Urias is on the shelf, Anderson is expected to play third base on a regular basis against right-handed pitching, though he could see more time in the corner outfield versus left-handers. Wherever Anderson is used in the field likely won't influence his fantasy outlook in any major way, as he should already carry eligibility in outfield and third base in most leagues after logging 41 and 42 starts at those respective positions in 2022. Anderson has recorded exactly one hit and one walk in each of the Brewers' first three games of the season and has scored twice and driven in one run.

  • Mets' Eduardo Escobar: Taking a seat Monday

Escobar is absent from the Mets' lineup for Monday's game in Milwaukee, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Luis Guillorme will get the start at third base. Escobar is 1-for-16 with seven strikeouts and no walks to start the season. He probably doesn't need to look over his shoulder quite yet, but with Brett Baty off to a nice start with Triple-A Buffalo, Escobar would be wise to pick it up.

  • Josh Jung 3B | TEX

Rangers' Josh Jung: Swats first home run

Jung went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Phillies.

Jung launched his first homer of the season to lead off the second inning. His bat was quiet during the Rangers' first two games when the club scored 27 runs, but it was vital in Sunday's low-scoring affair. The third baseman, who had a single and two walks in the first two contests, has crossed the plate four times, which is tied for the team lead.

  • Matt Duffy 3B | TEX

Royals' Matt Duffy: Goes yard in season debut

Duffy went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 7-4 loss to the Twins.

Duffy got the start at third base and batted ninth Sunday. Considering Hunter Dozier went 0-for-7 with two strikeouts over the first two games of the season, this could be Duffy's chance to make a push for playing time. Over 77 games with the Angels last year, he slashed .250/.308/.311. He hasn't hit more than five homers in any of his last five seasons (dating back to 2016), so he shouldn't be counted on for power production.

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | CIN

Mariners' Eugenio Suarez: Productive at plate in loss

Suarez went 2-for-5 with an RBI infield single, a double and two runs in an extra-inning loss to the Guardians on Sunday.

Following a 2-for-11 start at the plate over the first three games of the series and a three-strikeout tally Saturday, Suarez came through with his first multi-hit effort of the new season. The veteran slugger has already laced a pair of doubles over his first four games after racking up 57 extra-base hits -- his most since 2019 -- in his Mariners debut campaign last season.

  • Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA

Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Goes deep twice Sunday

Wisdom went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Sunday's 9-5 loss to the Brewers.

Wisdom hit his first two home runs of the season after supplying 25 long balls last year and 28 in 2021. He started in right field with Nick Madrigal getting the nod at third base, while Edwin Rios figures to also be in the mix at the hot corner moving forward. It could be a frustrating position for fantasy managers, so Wisdom's ability to play in the outfield is helpful for his overall outlook.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Homers again Sunday

Moncada went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, two doubles, two runs scored and a walk during Sunday's 6-3 win over the Astros.

Moncada extended Chicago's lead to five runs with a two-run shot during the ninth inning, as he homered for the second straight day. The 27-year-old is 8-for-18 with two homers, three doubles and four RBI through the first four games of the season, though he's also struck out seven times.

  • Jason Vosler 3B | SEA

Reds' Jason Vosler: Clubs solo homer

Vosler went 2-for-4 with solo home run and a double during Sunday's win over the Pirates.

Vosler started the scoring with solo shot during the second inning and followed up with a double in the eighth, though he was stranded. The 29-year-old received the start in two of the first three games of the season and has gone 3-for-8 with a home run, a triple, a double and three RBI.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Unavailable Sunday, IL not expected

Manager Dave Roberts said Muncy (groin) won't be available off the bench Sunday versus the Diamondbacks, though the skipper doesn't expect the injury to warrant a trip to the injured list, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

The 32-year-old was hit by a pitch in a "very sensitive area of his body" Saturday and is still experiencing some soreness Sunday. Muncy will take it easy for a day or two but should make a relatively quick return to the lineup.

  • Evan Longoria 3B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Evan Longoria: On bench Sunday

Longoria is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Longoria is 1-for-7 with a double and a run scored through the first three games of the season and will take a seat for Sunday's series finale in Los Angeles. Josh Rojas will step in at the hot corner and bat leadoff for Arizona.
