Cincinnati recalled De La Cruz from Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday.

One of the top overall prospects in baseball and absolutely dripping with multi-category fantasy upside, De La Cruz is set to make his major-league debut in the Reds' series opener Tuesday with the visiting Dodgers. The 21-year-old switch-hitting infielder was sporting a robust .298/.398/.633 batting line with 12 home runs, 36 RBI, 11 stolen bases and 38 runs scored through 38 games (186 plate appearances) this season at the Triple-A level. He tallied 28 homers and 47 steals in 121 games last year between High-A Dayton and Double-A Chattanooga. There are issues with strikeouts, but the sky is the limit on De La Cruz's long-term potential as a new era of Reds baseball begins.

Machado went 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored in Monday's 5-0 win against the Cubs.

Machado entered the game having gone just 1-for-11 since returning from the injured list Friday, but he was able to collect a trio of base knocks that led to three of San Diego's five runs. It was his fourth three-hit performance of the season, though the third baseman has struggled on the whole with a .234/.285/.368 slash line. The most glaring missing component of his season has been power -- Machado has gone deep just once over his past 17 contests and only five times overall after totaling 60 long balls across the previous two campaigns.

Garcia went 0-for-2 with a walk, one RBI and a stolen base in Monday's 9-6 loss to the Marlins.

This was Garcia's third straight game with an RBI, and he's walked safely in three of his last four contests. He's had some pockets of productive hitting after a hot start to May, and he's now slashing .261/.330/.380 through 27 contests. The infielder has added a home run, five steals, 13 RBI and nine runs scored while seeing steady playing time primarily at third base.

Maton went 1-for-2 with a walk and a three-run home run in Monday's loss to the Phillies.

Detroit fell 8-3, but it was a good homecoming for Maton, who blasted his sixth home run of the season in the seventh inning to break up Aaron Nola's no-hit bid. Maton played for the Phillies the last two seasons before joining the Tigers in the offseason as part of the Gregory Soto trade. Outside of the bright spot Monday, it's been a rough year for the utility player, as he's batting just .167.

Senzel was scratched from the Reds' lineup Monday due to right knee irritation, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Senzel was a late scratch from a game last week with the same injury. He should be considered day-to-day at this point. T.J. Hopkins entered the lineup Monday in Senzel's place.

Monasterio (head) will start at shortstop and bat second in Monday's game against the Reds.

Monasterio exited Sunday's 5-1 win early after being hit in the head on a tag play, but his removal from the contest was described as precautionary. The rookie's presence in the lineup a day later seemingly supports that sentiment, but Monasterio's playing time is soon expected to take a hit. Willy Adames (concussion) looks on track to return from the 7-day injured list Thursday, which will likely leave Monasterio as the odd man out of the Milwaukee infield.

Paredes will start at first base and bat cleanup in Monday's game against the Red Sox.

Paredes had begun to lose reps at third base to Taylor Walls at the end of May, but the Rays should have near-everyday roles in the infield available for both players for the foreseeable future after Brandon Lowe (back) was moved to the 10-day injured list Monday. While Lowe is on the shelf, Walls will likely take over as the Rays' primary second baseman, though the newly recalled Vidal Brujan will get the nod at the keystone Monday. Paredes, meanwhile, will slide across the diamond while primary first baseman Yandy Diaz gets a day out of the field to serve as the Rays' designated hitter.

Segura is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Segura will hit the bench after going 0-for-12 over his last four starts to drop his season-long batting average down to .191. Jon Berti will get the nod at third base Monday, and it wouldn't be surprising if he or Joey Wendle eventually supplanted Segura as the everyday option at the position for good.

Peterson went 1-for-3 with a run scored and a steal in Sunday's loss against the Marlins.

Peterson's now 6-for-7 on stolen base attempts this season. The veteran infielder hasn't offered much at the plate, however, going 4-for-32 (.125) in his last 11 games. Though he's still serving as Oakland's primary third baseman, Peterson is slashing just .197/.294/.280 with three homers, 15 runs scored and 13 RBI through 180 plate appearances this season.

Vargas went 2-for-4 with a double and a two-run home run in Sunday's loss to the Phillies.

He took Connor Brodgon deep in the ninth inning for a somewhat meaningless blow in an 11-3 rout. Vargas continues to be used sparingly and has only 52 plate appearances on the season, but the veteran utility player has produced a .320/.333/.540 slash line with two homers, nine runs and 10 RBI when he's gotten into the lineup.
