Christian Vazquez C | HOU
Red Sox's Christian Vazquez: Out of lineup Tuesday
Vazquez is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Braves, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.
Vazquez started two of the first three games since returning from finger surgery. He'll sit Tuesday, with Sandy Leon getting a turn being the plate.

Yan Gomes C | CHC
Indians' Yan Gomes: Hits bench Tuesday
Gomes is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Royals.
Gomes has typically been playing two or three games in a row before turning over catching duties to Roberto Perez. This time, he'll cede to his teammate after starting just one game. Gomes' mediocre .255/.305/.423 batting line easily outpaces Perez's .151/.244/.224, so there's little reason to believe a shift in playing time is coming.

Adam Moore C | TB
Rays' Adam Moore: Unavailable due to passport issues
Moore was placed on the restricted list Monday due to improper documentation with his passport, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The Rays are playing the Blue Jays in Canada for three days. It's unclear whether the issue will be resolved quickly or if he'll miss the entire series. He's temporarily off the 40-man roster until the issue is resolved. The Rays called up Nick Ciuffo as a backup catcher while Moore is unavailable.

Martin Maldonado C | SD
Astros' Martin Maldonado: Will have Monday off
Maldonado will get Monday off before returning to the starting lineup Tuesday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Maldonado, who had a hit in four at-bats Sunday, will take seat while Brian McCann gets the start Monday. Manager A.J. Hinch will be careful with McCann's return from a knee injury, so expect a heavy rotation between Maldonado and McCann initially.

Cam Gallagher C | PHI
Royals' Cameron Gallagher: Takes seat after two straight starts
Gallagher is out of the lineup Sunday against the Orioles, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
Gallagher had filled in behind the plate for the injured Salvador Perez (thumb) the past two days, going 2-for-6 with a solo home run and a walk in those contests. With manager Ned Yost suggesting that Perez could be sidelined for about a week with the injury, Gallagher will receive a short-term boost in at-bats, but his minor-league track record doesn't portend much fantasy upside. The 25-year-old slashed .265/.334/.358 with four home runs and one stolen base across 303 plate appearances at Triple-A Omaha prior to being promoted Friday.

Christian Vazquez C | HOU
Red Sox's Christian Vazquez: Sitting out Sunday
Vazquez is out of the lineup Sunday against the White Sox, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
Vazquez was reinstated from the 10-day disabled list Saturday and started behind the plate in the Red Sox's 6-1 win, finishing 0-for-3 with a walk and run scored. Prior to fracturing a pinkie finger in early July and requiring surgery to address the injury, Vazquez had been serving as the Red Sox's No. 1 catcher, but he'll likely be eased back into those duties after a lengthy layoff.

Mitch Garver DH | SEA
Twins' Mitch Garver: Out of lineup Sunday
Garver is not in the lineup for Sunday's series finale at Texas, LaVelle E. Neal III of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Garver went 3-for-8 with two doubles, two runs and four RBI through the first two games of the series but will get a breather for the finale. Willians Astudillo will start behind the plate and bat sixth Sunday.
-
Danny Jansen C | TEX
Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Takes seat in series finale
Jansen is out of the lineup Sunday against the Marlins.
Jansen will head to the bench for the first time in the series after starting behind the plate Friday and Saturday. He'll be replaced by Luke Maile, who will catch for starting pitcher Sean Reid-Foley.

Sandy Leon C | ATL
Red Sox's Sandy Leon: Remains on bench Sunday
Leon is not in the lineup for Sunday's series finale against the White Sox, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.
Leon retreats to the bench for the second straight game as Blake Swihart starts behind the plate for the Red Sox. Christian Vazquez's recent return from the disabled list further complicates matters, making it difficult to trust any of Boston's three catching options to receive the bulk of the playing time.
