Michael Perez C | BAL
Rays' Michael Perez: Put on DL
Perez was placed on the 10-day disabled list Friday due to a left hamstring strain, Marc Topkin of The Tampa Bay Times reports.
Perez suffered the injury during Tuesday's game against the Braves during a play at the plate. He will be eligible to return next weekend when the Rays start a three-game set against the Orioles on Friday. In a corresponding move, Adam Moore had his contract selected from the minors. Look for Jesus Sucre to receive regular starts behind the plate in Perez's absence.

Cam Gallagher C | PHI
Royals' Cameron Gallagher: Recalled from Omaha
Gallagher was called up from Triple-A Omaha on Friday, Rustin Dodd of The Athletic reports.
Gallagher will serve as the backup to Salvador Perez following the trade of Drew Butera to Colorado on Friday. In eight games with the Royals this year, Gallagher has gone 5-for-24 (.208 average) with a pair of doubles and two RBI. Since Perez rarely takes days off, don't expect to see too much of Gallagher behind the plate, even with the Royals likely to give more chances to their younger prospects in September.

Gary Sanchez C | MIL
Yankees' Gary Sanchez: Expected to return Saturday
Manager Aaron Boone said Thursday that he expects Sanchez (groin) to be reinstated from the 10-day disabled list prior to Saturday's game, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
Boone added that Sanchez will catch all nine innings at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday, and then report to New York on Saturday, barring any sort of setback. Upon his activation, Sanchez will likely work his way back into the swing of things, so don't be surprised to see Austin Romine receive a couple starts a week behind the plate.

Omar Narvaez C | HOU
White Sox's Omar Narvaez: Sticks on bench
Narvaez is not in the lineup Thursday against the Red Sox.
Narvaez will stick on the bench for a second straight game as Kevan Smith makes another start behind the dish in his place. The 26-year-old Narvaez is in the midst of a four-game hitting streak, slashing .438/.471/.563 with two doubles over that stretch.

Yan Gomes C | CHC
Indians' Yan Gomes: Not in Thursday's lineup
Gomes is out of the lineup against Minnesota on Thursday.
Gomes will get a breather after starting the first two games of this series, during which he went 2-for-8 with a pair of singles and three strikeouts. Roberto Perez will handle the catching duties in his stead.

Max Stassi C | SF
Astros' Max Stassi: Losing playing time to Maldonado
Stassi went 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored in Wednesday's win over the Athletics.
Stassi's fourth-inning single was his first hit in two weeks, breaking an 0-for-13 skid. An unproductive bat -- the hit raised his second-half average to .173 -- is one reason why Stassi has lost playing time to newcomer Martin Maldonado, who has started seven of the last 10 games behind the dish. With Brian McCann (knee) expected back when rosters expand Sept. 1, Stassi's playing time may drop even further.

Mitch Garver DH | SEA
Twins' Mitch Garver: Sitting Wednesday
Garver is out of Wednesday's lineup against the Indians, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
He started the last two games, but will make way for Willians Astudillo in this one. Garver is hitting .230/.262/.410 with two home runs in 61 at-bats this month.
-
Danny Jansen C | TEX
Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Out of lineup Wednesday
Jansen is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Orioles, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Jansen sits after starting seven of the Jays' last 10 games. He's hit an excellent .313/.395/.563 in 38 plate appearances since making his debut in mid-August. Russell Martin will start behind the plate Wednesday.

Omar Narvaez C | HOU
White Sox's Omar Narvaez: Heads to bench Wednesday
Narvaez is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Yankees.
Narvaez will get a rest after starting seven of Chicago's last eight games, a stretch in which he went 8-for-24. Kevan Smith will get the call behind the plate.
