Francisco Mejia C | TB
Indians' Francisco Mejia: Returns to action at Triple-A
Mejia (forearm) went 2-for-5 with an RBI for Triple-A Columbus in its 6-4 win over Louisville on Thursday.
Mejia missed several days after being hit in the forearm by a pitch Sunday, but he showed no ill effects in his return to action, turning in his 27th multi-hit game of the season. Overall, the 22-year-old has a healthy .281/.331/.431 slash line, but his recent audition in the outfield didn't go well and the Indians seem content with their options behind the plate at the major-league level, at least for the time being. With that, we may not see Mejia back in the majors until September.

Mitch Garver DH | SEA
Twins' Mitch Garver: Sits again Thursday
Garver is out of Thursday's lineup against the Rays, LaVelle E. Neal III of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Garver is set for a second straight day off, as left-hander Blake Snell toes the rubber for Tampa Bay. Bobby Wilson will bat ninth and handle the catching duties during the series opener.

Gary Sanchez C | MIL
Yankees' Gary Sanchez: Progresses to next step
Sanchez (groin) ran the bases prior to Thursday's matchup with Cleveland, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.
Sanchez took a big step forward, as it's the first time he's managed to navigate the bases since suffering the injury. He's certainly on track to begin a rehab stint over the weekend, with a return from the disabled list likely after the All-Star break.

James McCann C | ARI
Tigers' James McCann: Goes deep Wednesday
McCann went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Rays.
After getting a breather Tuesday, McCann supplied all of Detroit's offense from the No. 7 spot in the lineup Wednesday. The 28-year-old catcher has been scuffling this season, as he's batting just .227 with a .607 OPS, but maybe this strong effort will get him going.

Salvador Perez C | KC
Royals' Salvador Perez: Three-run homer Wednesday
Perez went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer and two strikeouts in Wednesday's loss to the Twins.
Perez went deep in the first inning to give the Royals an early three-run lead, though they'd eventually give it all back in the 8-5 loss. The backstop is hitting an uncharacteristically-low .217 with a .257 OBP -- both of which would be career lows -- but he's provided solid power and counting totals, all things considered, for being in the middle of a lineup that ranks last in runs per game.

Max Stassi C | SF
Astros' Max Stassi: Rides bench Wednesday
Stassi is out of Wednesday's starting lineup against the Athletics.
Stassi will take a seat after going 3-for-13 with one double and two RBI over his last four games. Tim Federowicz is slated to handle the catching duties and bat eighth.

Gary Sanchez C | MIL
Yankees' Gary Sanchez: Continues to ramp up activity
Sanchez (groin) took part in some running and on-field drills out of the crouch prior to Wednesday's tilt against Baltimore, Coley Harvey of ESPN.com reports.
Sanchez worked on his throws down to second and third base out of the crouch, but more importantly, he managed to get in some running. He also participated in agility drills in the outfield, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. If Sanchez can successfully run the bases within the next few days, there's a good chance he'll begin a minor-league stint by the weekend.

Mitch Garver DH | SEA
Twins' Mitch Garver: Receives breather
Garver is not in the lineup against Kansas City on Wednesday, LaVelle E. Neal of the Star Tribune reports.
Garver will take a seat following three straight starts as Bobby Wilson takes his place for the series finale. Over 57 games this year, Garver is slashing .258/.331/.380 with four home runs and 13 RBI.

Gary Sanchez C | MIL
Yankees' Gary Sanchez: Takes on-field batting practice
Sanchez (groin) took batting practice on the field prior to Tuesday's game, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
Sanchez continues to ramp up without any issues and is now likely one step away -- running the bases -- from being cleared for a minor-league rehab assignment. Hoch suggests Sanchez could begin playing in rehab games by this weekend. If he does receive clearance to join an affiliate by the end of the week, Sanchez would stand a good chance to be ready once play resumes July 20 or shortly thereafter.
