Rays' Luke Maile: Has multi-hit effort in 2016 debut
Maile went 2-for-3 with an RBI single in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Orioles.
The rookie backstop had a solid debut after being called up from Triple-A Durham, plating Corey Dickerson with a run-scoring single in the third and adding another hit as well. Maile will spell starter Curt Casali intermittently while he remains with the big league club.

Blue Jays' Josh Thole: Lacks playing time, production during first half
Thole struggled in his limited playing time during the first half of the season, hitting a measly .141 with just one extra-base hit in 78 at-bats.
The fact that Russell Martin was disgustingly awful for the first two-plus months of the season, and Thole still didn't receive extra playing time, tells you all you need to know about his fantasy value. If not for being knuckleballer R.A. Dickey's personal catcher, it's very unlikely that Thole would still be wearing a big league uniform with the way his season has gone.

Rays' Luke Maile: Will be called up Friday
Maile is expected to be called up Friday.
Maile is getting the call up to be replace Hank Conger who was sent down to the minors Monday. Maile has spent all of 2016 with Triple-A Durham where he's accumulated a .242/.310/.340 slash line over 58 games.

Blue Jays' Josh Thole: Two hits and two RBI in Sunday's win
Thole went 2-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and two RBI in Sunday's win over the Tigers.
He continues to get a start or two a week as R.A. Dickey's personal catcher, but Thole's .141/.239/.179 slash line on the season tells you all you need to know about his fantasy value.

Roberto Perez C | BOS
Indians' Roberto Perez: Role uncertain upon completion of rehab
Perez (thumb), who figures to be rehabbing for a few more weeks, may not be guaranteed a role with the Indians once he's back healthy, MLB.com reports.
Perez started the season as the Tribe's backup catcher but Chris Gimenez has become Trevor Bauer's personal catcher during Perez's injury and the Indians may be reluctant to break the duo up with Bauer performing so well.

Royals' Salvador Perez: Homers in loss to Seattle
Perez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Friday's loss to Seattle.
Kansas City ultimately ended up dropping the game, but Perez offered a glimmer of hope when he took Steve Cishek deep in the ninth inning to bring his club within one. Perez broke out of a slump with a 3-for-4 performance Thursday, and Friday's follow-up indicates that he's beginning to get back in a groove, although it remains to be seen if the All-Star break will affect this development.
