Adam Moore C | TB
Indians' Adam Moore: Accepts designation to Triple-A
Moore accepted his designation to Triple-A Columbus on Sunday.
Moore was designated for assignment on May 4 after failing to make an appearance during his brief stint with the team. He'll now return to the Triple-A level to get more reps, and likely won't be back unless an injury at the Major League level forces a need for a backup catcher.

Max Stassi C | SF
Astros' Max Stassi: Activated from DL, optioned to Triple-A
Stassi (wrist) was activated from the 15-day DL and was optioned to Triple-A Fresno on Sunday, Angel Verdejo of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Stassi had been on a rehab assignment with Fresno, so he'll just remain in the minors with the Astros content to stick with Jason Castro and Erik Kratz as their two backstops. During his three-game rehab stint, Stassi went 2-for-11 with five strikeouts.

Curt Casali C | ATL
Rays' Curt Casali: Particularly proficient at extra-base hits in brief career
Casali has notched an extra-base hit 62 percent of the time that he's hit safely since last June, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The young backstop is only tallying a .202 average over 228 career at-bats over parts of three seasons, but has made solid contact on an overwhelming majority of the hits he's managed since a June 2015 call-up. Casali has managed to hit for extra bases on 21 of the 34 instances in which he's avoided an out since that point, a span that includes as many homers (13) as singles. However, consistency in getting on base remains an area with plenty of room for improvement, as the 27-year-old readily admits. "Believe me, I'd like to be more consistent at the plate, maybe throw in a single instead of a strikeout or a pop fly," Casali said. "I want to be more consistent.

Roberto Perez C | BOS
Indians' Roberto Perez: Out 8-12 weeks after undergoing surgery Friday
Perez (thumb) underwent surgery on his fractured thumb Friday and is expected to miss 8-12 weeks, Zack Meisel of Cleveland.com reports.
A thumb injury is never a good thing for a catcher, and it appears that the surgery was major enough that it will keep Perez out for a significant chunk of the season. This timetable has him in line to rejoin the Indians at some point in July, but this could change depending on how his rehab process goes.

Alex Lavisky C | CLE
Indians' Alex Lavisky: Headed back to DL with ankle sprain
Lavisky was placed on the disabled list Friday with a right ankle sprain.
Lavisky had just gotten back into action after missing the month of April due to another ankle sprain, but he'll head back to the DL after re-aggravating the ailment. He wasn't getting much playing time behind Anthony Recker while he was healthy, and the injury will only inhibit him further from getting a shot behind the plate for the Clippers.

Christian Vazquez C | HOU
Red Sox's Christian Vazquez: Out of lineup Thursday
Vazquez is out of the lineup Tuesday against the White Sox, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports.
Vazquez will get another day off Thursday as the Red Sox take the cautious approach by giving his previously problematic elbow plenty of time to rest. Ryan Hanigan will slot in behind the plate in his stead.

Roberto Perez C | BOS
Indians' Roberto Perez: Will have surgery Friday
Perez (thumb) will have surgery on his right thumb Friday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
Perez is expected to miss significant time but a more exact timetable will be announced after his surgery is completed. The 27-year-old had failed to record a hit through his first four games, but still managed to reach base at a .400 clip thanks to his above-average eye at the plate.

James McCann C | ARI
Tigers' James McCann: Is not in Thursday's lineup
McCann is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Tigers.
McCann was activated from the DL on Tuesday and started two consecutive games, so the Tigers are likely giving him a day to rest to ease him back into the swing of things. He is just 2-for-20 to start the season but should improve drastically once he gets back in a rhythm.

Yan Gomes C | CHC
Indians' Yan Gomes: Not in Thursday's lineup
Gomes is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Tigers.
Gomes has started nine of the past 11 games, including three straight, so a day off to rest could prove beneficial as the 28-year-old has collected just two hits in his last 23 at bats.
