Guardians' Bo Naylor: Sitting down Saturday

Naylor isn't in the Guardians' lineup for Saturday's game versus the Dodgers.

After going 0-for-5 across his last two games, Naylor will take a seat Saturday while Austin Hedges catches for Gavin Williams and bats ninth.

  • Korey Lee C | CHW

White Sox's Korey Lee: Sitting again

Lee (back) is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Red Sox.

Lee was scratched from Friday's lineup with back tightness, and he'll get the night off Saturday as well. Chuckie Robinson will fill in for Lee behind the dish.

  • Ben Rortvedt C | NYM

    Rays' Ben Rortvedt: Idle Saturday

Rortvedt isn't in the Rays' lineup for Saturday's game against Baltimore, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Rortvedt will take a seat Saturday after going 0-for-3 with a walk during Friday's series opener. Logan Driscoll will start behind the dish instead and bat sixth.

  • Jake Rogers C | DET

Tigers' Jake Rogers: Not starting Saturday

Rogers isn't in the Tigers' lineup Saturday against Oakland.

After going 1-for-7 with two walks and a run scored across Detroit's last two games, Rogers will take a seat on the bench while Dillon Dingler starts behind the plate and bats eighth.

  • Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Taking seat Saturday

Langeliers isn't in the Athletics' lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers.

Langeliers will get to rest Saturday after going 1-for-6 during Friday's 13-inning series opener. Kyle McCann will catch instead for Brady Basso while batting ninth.

  • Austin Wells C | NYY

Yankees' Austin Wells: Plates two runs in return

Wells went 1-for-3 with a walk and two RBI in Friday's 3-0 win against the Cubs.

Wells returned from a two-game absence after taking a hit-by-pitch on the hand Monday. The backstop accounted for the bulk of New York's scoring Friday with a two-run single in the third inning. Now that he's back in action, Wells will likely start behind the plate most of the time when the Yankees face right-handed starters while Jose Trevino is expected to get the call against most southpaws.

  • Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Wallops 19th homer

    O'Hoppe went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer Friday's 5-1 victory over the Rangers.

The Angels backstop stretched the team's lead to 5-0 with a 410-foot, three-run homer off Jose Urena in the sixth inning. After batting an abominable .099 (9-for-91) with just two homers in August, O'Hoppe has already slugged two long balls in September as he breaks out of his slump. Overall, the 24-year-old is slashing .242/.299/.413 with 19 homers, 55 runs scored and 54 RBI in 463 plate appearances across 120 games.

  • Ryan Jeffers C | MIN

    Twins' Ryan Jeffers: Sitting Friday

Jeffers is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Royals.

Jeffers will get what looks like a routine breather after three straight starts, including two starts behind the plate in the past three days. Christian Vazquez will catch for starting pitcher Zebby Matthews.

  • Korey Lee C | CHW

White Sox's Korey Lee: Scratched from Friday's lineup

Lee was scratched from the lineup for Friday's game against the Red Sox with back tightness, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Chuckie Robinson is now slated to do the catching for starting pitcher Davis Martin. Lee ended August on a 2-for-21 slide and is just 1-for-7 to open September.

  • Austin Wells C | NYY

Yankees' Austin Wells: Back in action Friday

Wells (hand) is starting behind the plate and batting cleanup Friday against the Cubs.

The 25-year-old sat out two straight games after being hit in the right hand by a pitch Monday, but he'll rejoin the starting nine following Thursday's team off day. Wells has gone 0-for-9 with three strikeouts through the first two games of September, but he was plenty productive in August with four homers and a .936 OPS in 22 contests.
