Reese McGuire C | MIL
Red Sox's Reese McGuire: Suffers bruised thumb
McGuire was pulled from Tuesday's game against Tampa Bay due to a left thumb contusion, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.
McGuire injured his thumb while catching warmup throws from Tanner Houck ahead of the third inning and was replaced by Connor Wong. There's no word on how long McGuire will be held out, but Wong figures to see more consistent starts behind the plate while McGuire recovers.

Ryan Jeffers C | MIN
Twins' Ryan Jeffers: Receives Tuesday off
Jeffers is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus Oakland.
Jeffers has an .857 OPS over 45 at-bats in September but continues to split time behind the plate with Christian Vazquez, who is starting and batting eighth Tuesday.

Connor Wong C | BOS
Red Sox's Connor Wong: Not starting Tuesday
Wong is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rays, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.
Wong has just one hit over his past nine games and will take a seat for Tuesday's contest. Reese McGuire will step in behind the plate to catch for righty Tanner Houck.

Jake Rogers C | DET
Tigers' Jake Rogers: Not in Tuesday's lineup
Rogers is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's tilt versus the Royals, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
He has now yielded to Carson Kelly in four of the last six contests. September has been one of Rogers' best offensive months to this point, as he's put up an .810 OPS with four home runs.

Bo Naylor C | CLE
Guardians' Bo Naylor: Back in action Tuesday
Naylor (thumb) will catch and bat eighth for the Guardians in Tuesday's game versus the Reds.
It will be the first action Naylor sees since he suffered a bruised right thumb during Friday's win over the Orioles. The rookie catcher will look to continue his strong finish to the season, as he'll carry a 1.020 OPS for the month into play Tuesday.

Logan O'Hoppe C | LAA
Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Homers for team's lone run
O'Hoppe went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Monday in a loss to the Rangers.
O'Hoppe put the Angels on the board early with his second-inning solo shot, but that was the only run Los Angeles managed in the loss. The backstop continues to show good power, swatting seven homers over his past 15 games. He's added 12 RBI and nine runs over that stretch, though he's also posted a poor 1:20 BB:K.

Austin Wells C | NYY
Yankees' Austin Wells: Belts second big-league homer
Wells went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run in Monday's 6-4 win against Arizona.
Wells tied the score in the fourth inning with a two-run shot to center field. He added a single in the eighth frame and subsequently crossed the plate with the go-ahead run. The long ball was his second as a pro, both of which have come over his past four games. He's gone 5-for-15 over that span after batting 5-for-39 to begin his major-league career.

Jose Trevino C | CIN
Yankees' Jose Trevino: Will start hitting soon
Trevino (wrist) said Sunday he plans to start hitting in a couple weeks and expects to be ready for spring training next year, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.
Trevino underwent right wrist surgery in late July, putting an end to his 2023 campaign. He appears to be on track in his recovery, which should allow him to have a normal offseason. Trevino thus seems likely to enter spring training fully healthy, though it's not certain he'll open as the Yankees' primary catcher given Austin Wells' strong minor-league campaign and late-season call-up to the big-league squad.

Ryan Jeffers C | MIN
Twins' Ryan Jeffers: Powers Twins to victory
Jeffers went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, a triple, three RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Angels.
Jeffers picked up a triple in the sixth inning that traveled 416-feet and would've been a home run in 24 of 30 parks and followed up with a two-run blast in the seventh to put the Twins up 9-3. Although he's been a much more impactful hitter than Christian Vazquez (.841 OPS compared to .597 for Vazquez), the two continue to split time behind the dish, and it's unclear if that would potentially change during the playoffs. For the year, Jeffers is slashing .270/.367/.474 with 12 home runs, 39 RBI, 43 runs and a 32:90 BB:K in 317 plate appearances.
