  • Kyle Teel C | CHW

White Sox's Kyle Teel: Out of Thursday's lineup

Teel is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Seattle.

Teel will get a breather after starting each of the last four games (three at catcher, one at designated hitter). Edgar Quero will handle the catching and will bat seventh for the White Sox in Thursday's matinee.

  • Red Sox's Carlos Narvaez: Battling knee soreness

Narvaez is absent from Wednesday's lineup versus the Royals due to knee soreness, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

Narvaez looked gimpy while running out a grounder in Tuesday's 6-2 win, although he wasn't forced out of the contest. He was still sporting a limp prior to Wednesday's game, but the hope is he will be ready to play Friday in San Diego, per Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald. Connor Wong will be behind the dish for the Red Sox on Wednesday.

  • Red Sox's Carlos Narvaez: Out again amid slump

Narvaez is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Royals.

Narvaez started Tuesday's game, but this will be the third time over the last four contests that he's been absent from the lineup. He's been in a rut at the dish, going 1-for-23 over his last six contests. Connor Wong will fill in at catcher Wednesday.

  • Nick Fortes C | TB

Rays' Nick Fortes: Filling in for resting Feduccia

Fortes will start at catcher and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Angels, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Though he'll crack the starting nine for the series finale, Fortes looks poised to work in a timeshare behind the dish with Hunter Feduccia, after the latter was acquired from the Dodgers on Thursday. Feduccia had started in three of the previous four contests and may hold a slight edge over Fortes in terms of playing time at the moment.

  • Rays' Hunter Feduccia: Not in Wednesday's lineup

Feduccia is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Angels.

Feduccia and Nick Fortes have split the Rays' catching duties evenly since the former was added to the roster this past Friday. Fortes will be behind the dish and bat ninth in Wednesday's series finale.

  • Blue Jays' Tyler Heineman: Re-entering lineup Wednesday

Heineman (head) will start at catcher and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

Heineman exited his most recent start Saturday due to a head contusion, but he avoided a concussion and made enough improvement to play the final two innings of Monday's 15-1 win. He'll make his return to the starting lineup Wednesday, but Heineman is expected to see few opportunities moving forward after top backstop Alejandro Kirk was reinstated from the 7-day injured list Sunday.

  • Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Grabbing seat Wednesday

Kirk is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game in Colorado.

Kirk started at catcher in each of the last three games after returning from the 7-day injured list, so he'll get some rest during Wednesday's matinee. Tyler Heineman will be behind the dish and bat eighth as Toronto goes for the sweep.

  • Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Homers thrice in win

Langeliers went 5-for-6 with three homers, a double and four runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Nationals.

Langeliers posted a historic night at the plate in his first career start in the leadoff spot. He started things off with a leadoff home run before homering again in the fifth and seventh innings. Langeliers became the fifth catcher in MLB history to hit 20-plus homers in three of his first four seasons. He now has 10 home runs since coming back from the All-Star break, which is tied with Kyle Schwarber for the most in baseball.

  • Yainer Diaz C | HOU

Astros' Yainer Diaz: Pops 16th homer

Diaz went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run Tuesday against the Marlins.

Diaz popped a three-run home run in the fifth inning to provide Houston with some insurance runs, his 16th of the season. While his average has been on the rise for several weeks, Diaz has now begun to hit for power, hitting three homers and two doubles with 10 RBI across his last seven games. His ISO now sits at .171, 29 points above his mark in 2024.

  • Austin Wells C | NYY

Yankees' Austin Wells: Getting breather Tuesday

Wells isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rangers.

Wells will take a seat Tuesday after going 1-for-5 with a run scored during Monday's series opener. Ben Rice will catch instead for starter Will Warren and bat second.
